Hi, I was an AVON Rep of last yr 2003 lasted, no longer than 3 mons. I had several incidents with this company. I had recruited a young lady into my downline which was very rude, & unprofessional (as I soon came to find out). Her, & my district manager literally played games with me not only that but, the Division Sales Manager also. They we're all in on it. We'll anyhow she told me in an e-mail that she was no longer interested in selling Avon I said ok no problem, & i'm sorry to hear about that. She stated how do I get your kit back to you, I replied back and said you can mail it or something, or we can meet up somewhere.

So, she e-mailed me, & every e-mail just got worser from her. We both decided to go to the mall, so she could return my kit back to me, I walked althrough the department store we decided to meet at, even outside. She, was not there! Went home, & I didn't bother to e-mail her. She, e-mailed me, & stated I went to the mall to give you your kit, & you we're not there.

So, then from that point I tried repeatedly contacting my DM, left messages for her e-mailed her, & received no helpful information from her whatsoever. So, that left me with no choice but, to contact the Branch. Which, I think I did a very smart thing. I told the customer service rep I talked with by the name of Jim what had happened, & what she had did (the girl of course I tried to recruit). He said, I can make note here on your account for your DM to call you, she never did. But, he also told me that I was allowed to charge her a termination fee for canceling her account. Later, on that day I then e-mail my DM, & even her boss (which, by the way is the Division Sales Manager), & told them what had happened. This, all happened around my birthday. Some surprise that was for me, a week in ahalf after my b-day the district manager e-mailed me and told me in the e-mail that it was against AVONs polcies to charge a representative for closing they're accounts, she also stated this incident along, with your complaints from the Branch lead me to no option. But, to Cancel your account with AVON. She, then even had the nerve to forward the e-mail I sent to here to her boss, & another representative that sales AVON which is her helper. I was shocked, when I received that e-mail, & tears feel down my face immediately. How can, a person be so cruel, & not have any hard feelings, that is so wrong. Like, I stated to her in that e-mail, I got someones permission from the Branch to do that. Also, I had on the speakerphone, & I even have two witness that even witness what he told me.

Before, this had happend I had e-mailed her boss to file a complaint against my DM. (I Know, what the DSM did, she contacted her first, & give her my name, & told her that I wanted to file a complaint against her. Then, the DM she just got mad and terminated my account, it's not my fault that she wouldnt return my phone calls nor e-mails).

Then, 3 days later after the DM terminated my acct. The DSM called me, and I did not appreciated the way she talked to me. She, said what is going on between you, & so, & so. ( Come, on like a little kid). She, didn't even file the complaint she just called my house, trying to start something. Even, during this whole thing the only person that was on my side was my Leadership Upline. She, forwarded my e-mails to him too. He, even said himself he was shocked when he received those e-mails. He calls both the DM, & DSM, & stated what is going on, call me? He said haven't neither one of them return his phone calls at all that day. He said the only e-mail he's gotten from the DM, was congrulations in President Club. He e-mailed the DSM, & stated he has some fundraiser kits here, & he needs to know what to do with them, she replied back and said you need to speak with your DM not me. My Leadership upline, told me that the DM, & DSM they act both alike. He, even stated himself the DM had no business doing that! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention she got rid of my mom's account too. Had, the nerve to say your both inactive, & have past due accounts.

I wasn't satisfied so I then contacted they're Headquaters Office in NY. I contacted the Vice president, & the CEO of AVON e-mailed them, & left my phone number at the end. The next day, I was contacted by they're secretary she did a little investigating I suspose. & I told her what she did. and what had happend. She, stated then perhapse that's they're misunderstanding about you being able to charge a representative for closing they're acct. No, I don't think that should be perhapse.. That IS THEY'RE MISUNDERSTANDING!!! She, stated she's been working with AVON for 22 yrs, and she's never heard of that rule. She, was amazed when I told her she canceled my moms account too. She, asked me what number did you call to reach this Jim, guy & I told her that 513 number. She, replied back that's our office in Ohio. She, said ok. let me talk with the DSM, & DM & get they're opinion on this, & I will call you back the next day.

Guess, what??? Never heard from her, again.

not making sense

It sounds to me like you were angry from the beginning and went on a rampage. If y ou stayed with the company for more than three months you would know that the kind of behavior you are describing from your DSm&DM are not tolerated. I have seen many of them replaced, the customer service is very prompt. ALso, your story about your downline returning her kit makes no sense....didshe/he pay the $15 for that kit? they should have just kept and let her/his account expire in 6 months and you would not have had the hassle. Your story sounds very bitter and not quit truthful. I have been with Avon for almost two years and have never had a complaint. If you are a SMART, HARD WORKER you will go far like many other SMART, HARD WORKING woman/men in the company. Good luck on your future endeavors....you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, but a butterfly is beautiful free
thank you

M from Spencer,
It sounds as if you were becoming beligerant with the people you were dealing with, and most people won't respond to that in any form or fashion. I can't imagine them being that way otherwise. There are DM's and DSM's that are not easy to work for..I for one have a great DM, and Anita Pulgar, over our division (you and I are in the same division) is wonderful. Most of them will go out of their way to be helpful. They ARE people. Difficult DM's are the minority, and not the norm. Avon work's when you work it. And you do have the choice of being discriminate of the people you recruit. You sure don't want to recruit someone who you feel would be dishonest or give Avon a bad name in your area.
Avon is a wonderful opportunity, with great products.
