Bally Total Fitness Ripoff Dishonest, mislead into 2 year agreement. NO CONTRACT Chicago Illinois

On December 3rd 2006, I visited the Bally Total Fitness north shore location for the first time. After a long wait a gentlemen by the name of Casey directed me to a sales/conference room and did not bother to give me a formal tour of the facility. I was told that I had a 30 day trial offer that guaranteed cancellation at anytime.

Casey assured me that there were no termination fees, penalties, and the easy ability to cancel my membership if I pleased with no hassles. He never went into any details of the contract with me and constantly repeated the 30 day guarantee. He then photocopied only the top page of the contract; therefore I never received a contract and was not informed of the information in the biding agreement.

I was misrepresented by a bally employee regarding the terms of the membership and information on whether the contact was biding or could be cancelled. I was never provided with a copy of the contract and therefore was mislead about the legally biding nature of the agreement. Also, I never received any booklets, handouts, or papers that described the membership that I purchases, the full total cost, or any additional costs.

I was denied request for cancellation over the phone even though I was still in the 30 day guarantee. As a salesmen Casey was very unsuccessful at following the sales model, but why didnt a senior sales manager meet with us as well?

We never has any senior level management meet with us to ensure that we understood that our contract was legally binding, no one ever reviewed the terms and conditions of the contract, and ensured that we understood the cancellation rights.

I am extremely disappointed with the way I have been treated, and want my membership terminated. I have already stopped payment on my account, But i'm lost from here....
