bandfield misdigosed my 8 month lab, said he had a brake or fracture would have to splint him for 6 weeks to the tune of $711.09. now he has open sores and took him to 2 different vets they said that he does not have a brake or fracture, and now he might have to go thru a nother surgery to correct the big chunk of skin that he lost on his leg, this has been a nightmare. all of this because all they want is your money.

the first thing they said to my husband when he took our dog in was sign up for the wellness plan and you will save all kinds of money, that cost us 700.00 up front and all they do is mark everything they do up take off a few dolllars and you are still going to lose your a*s. they are a joke

banfield wellness plan

AUTHOR: Tim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 28, 2007

This is merely a misinterpretation. As an ER doctor for a number of years, I aways see these Banfield clients. These clients think because they are on a wellness plan at Banfield that everything that happens to their pet is covered-from poisonings to hit by car.

The wellness plan only pays for examinations, vaccines, the first spay or neuter, and, depending on the type of plan, up to a dental and bloodwork each year.

There IS NO coverage for fractures... Bottom line. There is no coverage for anything else other than WELLNESS issues.

Your dog had a fracture and with anesthesia, bloodwork, casting, it should have been every bit of $711. If you did not get your pets foot fixed at Banfield or another clinic then you are guilty of negligence and abuse. In FL, for example, I would have given you the estimate. Had you declined, I would have called your referring vet to make sure you did it. If you did not fix your pets foot, then I would have called animal care and control (police).

Next time, try pet insurance. With pet insurance, you have the best chance at getting your money back for catastrophies.
