Upon viewing my account online, I've come across something rather interesting. I show two "Overdraft fees" however, I do not show where my account was overdrawn. Nowhere in my transaction history did it say that I went negative. They charged me $35.00 for a $1.08 purchase for a drink I bought at McDonalds so I wouldn't dehydrate myself to death, and another $35.00 fee for $7.64 for lunch at Jack in the Box...but still...I don't see where I went negative.

I contacted the bank to have them reverse the fees and they've declined. I have been banking with Bank of America since 1996. When I moved to North Carolina, I closed my California account and reopened with a BofA account in North Carolina. When I moved back to California, I had to do that again, because the computer system wasn't linked. I have been a loyal customer for 12 years and they can't reverse two Overdraft fees that don't apply?

Watch out for this bank. They are a bunch of crooked people who are out to scam you. They'll hold funds so they find an opportunity to rip you off.

Go to Washington Mutual...at least they'll waive one Overdraft fee a year, which is more than I can say about Bank of America...even though I absolutely don't agree with their fees they charged me.

If you look at their financials, they made millions off of their Overdraft and NSF fees. If you are a customer of Bank of America, get out now!!!! They'll find the right moment to steal money that you would use to feed your children and use it to put gas in their Porsches and Ferraris.

If anyone has a Class action lawsuit going...let me know. I'd love to join...just let me know where to sign up. I already plan to take them to small claims.

You need to go back to your bank and tell them that your funds shouldn't have been held for more than one day. Go to the Federal Reserve and look up bank check holds. If I remember correctly US Treasury funds are not supposed to be held more than one day. If they still hold their ground, file a complaint with the O.C.C.

Three things...

#1 The problem is that when you spent the $1.08 & $7.64 you did not have that much available in your account. That's why you got the fees.

#2 The letter probably said you were 'pre-approved' for the card, and then added pending complete credit approval. When your credit was checked they found out they couldn't accept your application. Happens all the time.

#3 And yes, actually if you get a fake/fraud check and deposit it into your account it is your problem. You are responsible for everything deposited. Unfortunately the bad people who do print & deposit fake checks make it tough on the good people who have to wait for their money.

I know exactly what you mean!
Such as when I deposited my tax return check, and they put a hold on it for 2 weeks - despite on their website it saying government issued checks clear in 2 days or less. Customer Service claimed they didn't know what i was talking about.
Also the letter i received about the check - that they "had information the funds may not be paid" word for word! Excuse me, if you think the gov't issued me a fake check, that's not my problem! And also the letter stated any overdraft fees I incurred while waiting for the check to clear would be credited. Well, I deposited the check into my Savings (and my Checking is linked to it) God knows, when my balance gets low they charge my savings for "overdraft protection" (if i overdraw or not) but when I called to have a couple of overdraft fees reversed - because the letter said they would! - even a supervisor refused because the fees were in my Checking not my Savings, which is where the check cleared.

Ridiculous!

They sent me a letter one time saying that I was approved for a credit card, just fill out the information and send it in....well, I did just that and they sent me a letter saying that my request was denied....

The inquiry hit my credit report.

Why send me a letter of approval just to rub it in my face that I'm not approved???

B**&*&*&s!!!
