I have a credit card with BOA. I have had it for 7 years. I went to pay my bill online which was due Sunday. I got online Saturday and it would not allow me to put Saturday's date it automatically put in Monday's date.

I got hit with a late charge and an over limit fee. I called them up and the supervisor said she could remove the over limit fee and 1/2 of the late fee. I said I wanted it all removed, she refused.

I have been a good customer and have one other account with them. I am going to close my other account because it just goes to show you BOA doesn't care about their customers. My interest rate is now 27.24%.

I called them back the next day and talked with a different supervisor and she told me this is their policy. She said if I made a payment by phone on Saturday (which I would have to pay a fee because I don't have a checking account witth them) I would have avoided the late fee. Does this make any sense????

I say let BANK OF AMERICA FAIL. NO more TAX MONEY!

I had the same thing happen to me recently. I am overseas and I made a payment online on a Saturday (which was actually a Friday in the US, the payment date automatically reverted to the upcoming Monday but I changed it to same day payment. I normally make payments early and the paydate reflects the actual due date so I often change it to same day I'm making the payment. I checked back a few days later to make sure payment was posted and notice I was charged a $39.00 late fee. I emailed Customer Service and received a response telling me this was all in my online service agreement of which I have never read. I responded by telling them though the economy is bad and banks are hurting, consumers are hurting too and they need to waive this fee as I have never read any such agreement, my payments are usually early and for good customer service. Well guess what? They credited my account with $19.50 of the $39.00 and when I received my June statement this morning, my normal payment of $47.00 jumped to $89.00. I have paid $47.00 for the longest and today, 2 days after my complaint, my payment jumps to $89.00. So they give me a $19.50 credit, then jack me for an extra $42.00 for June. Not only did I make the $47.00 payment but the next day I sent an additional $100 to work on getting my balance down so technically I should not owe any payment for June much less an addtional $42.00. These practices should be outlawed and we as consumers should not be robbed because the credit card companies are in financial crisis. The failing economy has hurt us all and banks, credit card companies, mortgage companies getting bailouts are already getting taxpayers money, why rob us all individually with these fraudelent practices?

I pay other credit cards due same day

AUTHOR: Kc - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 04, 2009

That's funny!! I just paid another credit card due 5/1 and paid 5/1. If you pay before a certain time it will post the same day.

For the comment I must pay late all the time, that is the 2nd time both due dates were on the weekend. I didn't even know that I couldn't pay on the weekend.

Funny thing is the supervisor said I could have made the payment by phone on the weekend with no late fee but not on the internet. If you have checking account with them phone fee is free.

I will check on the comment about they shouldn't have the payment on the weekend.

I am going into the branch this week.

I am not against banks. I am against big banks that received tax payer money that do not care about their customers. It's all about greed.

I am closing my accounts with BOA and putting my money with my other bank that I go to that treat their customers with respect. I can only hope that other people that have been mistreated by BOA will do the same.

Pay online always defaults to the next business day -- try this next time

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 30, 2009

I have noticed that whenever I go to pay my bill online it always goes to either the due date or the next business day by default. In this case the due date had already gone by and since Saturday and Sunday are non-business days you couldn't try to go in a few days early (which by the way was already past due anyway).

If you have a problem paying on the due date then see if they can change your billing cycle so that you can get it in. They are always happy to do this if you just ask.

By the way credit card payments are never due on a non-business day anyway. They always adjust it so that if the usual due date falls on a Saturday or Sunday they move it to Monday or Tuesday.

don't understand....

AUTHOR: Sylver8248 - (U.S.A.)

You tried to make a payment on a weekend...the payment was due on a Sunday (the sense of THAT is certainly debatable), so common sense tells you that if they take 2-3 business days to post your payment (or however many, it's different for every cc), you would have had to make it, at the latest, on Tuesday.

Yes it's very annoying...but all of my credit cards do this. They also agreed to refund most of the charges you received. I would have been happy with that. Unfortunately, right now, with the economy in the state that it's in...being a "good customer" doesn't seem to pull much weight, since many of the "good customers" are the ones experiencing more strict policies on fees, and ever changing, higher, interest rates, even though they pay on time.

Our leaders are socializing the United States.

The fed OWNS over one third of the US banking industry.

The fed OWNS over 55 percent of Chrysler with more scheduled down the road.

The fed is dictating corporate compensation.

Before you know it, we will all have the RIGHT to a government factory job, just like the USSR and former communist Europe. Such bliss! When that happens, you'll only have to wait 2 YEARS to purchase a clothes washing machine.

Oh, and Lewis RESIGNED as a condition of the fed PURCHASING more STOCK.

Welcome to the United Socialist States of America. "In Obama we trust"

(excuse me-I have to go puke now.)

URGENT UPDATE TO ALL AMERICANS: DON'T EVER.......

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 30, 2009

use your brain and go to Betty's Ripoff Report from the summer of 2007 and read it, & then compare what GM Credit Card Services was doing to her, & what BOA is doing to its customers.

If you noticed what GM Credit Card Services did to her, and compared it to what BOA is doing to its customers, then you would be able to see the parallel quite easily.

Your 'leaders' obviously don't want you to use your heads. Keep 'BELIEVING' & 'HOPING' that everything will work out. Just because GM Credit Card Services raised Betty's interest rate from 10.99% to 32.44% means nothing! And just because GM basically COLLAPSED, & needed TENS of BILLIONS of TAXPAYER'S dollars, means nothing too!

There was NO LINK, right?

And just because banks are raising credit card interest rates, like GM Credit Card Services did, means nothing, right?

There's NO LINK, correct?

Everything is fine. The $5.32 TRILLION taxpayer outlay since March of 2008 is no big deal, correct?

Our 'leaders' have it all under control, right???

Have a nice day.

P.S. To read Betty's Ripoff Report from the summer of 2007, simply 'Google' this- RIP OFF REPORT GM CREDIT CARD SERVICES, and read what she had to say.

It makes perfect sense

AUTHOR: Susan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 29, 2009

It makes perfect sense.

You tried and saw on-line that your payment due on Sunday wouldn't be counted until Monday.

Your over limit fee and 1/2 of the late fees were already removed.

You must pay late often, a one time late would have refunded 100%

Over the limit... that is your problem.
