I have 2 accounts with Bank of America.  I wrote a check off one account, and sent it.  The following day I noticed the account had insufficient funds to cover it, but due to work, forgot about it until that evening.  When I arrived home, I checked my account online, I was still in the positive, check hadn't gone through and there was no notification of any transactions that were being processed.  I then transferred money from my other account to cover the check.  Received the online confirmation that the money was transferred along with the current balance of each account (at this point there was enough in the account to cover the written check).  Next day I get an email stating my account is overdrawn.  I look to find out the check I wrote cleared but my transfer was still being processed.

I am upset for the following reasons: 1) the amount in my account when I first checked was in the positive with nothing being processed, normally if anything is being processed it tells me on the online statement (even though customer service said the check was being processed that day and posted at midnight), 2) both accounts are in BoA, so they know the money is there to cover the check, 3) my transfer was done online before the check cleared but still the transferred had to process (which showed online).

I am very displeased with BoA on this, If you have a choice of banks, go with someone other than Bank of America!  NOW I have to convince my wife to switch banks...shouldn't be too hard.
