On Tuesday October 14th, I made my last transaction for the week for Brighthouse Networks for 100.51. When I checked my account online it showed that I had $7.57 available in my account. When I checked my account on Wednesday October 15, my account had a negative balance of $-12.84. All of my transactions were cleared but the one from Brighthouse. I called Bank of America and they explained that I had a transaction from October 9th for 20.18 that had just cleared, and that's why my account was negative, and that I would be charged one overdraft fee of $35 for the pending Brighthouse transaction. I understood that because it was the only transaction that hadn't cleared and that I didn't have enough funds for. When I checked my account Thursday October 16th, I had been charged three overdraft fees with the Brighthouse transaction still pending. I was told I was being charged for three other transactions that were each under $10, that had already been cleared and paid for, because Bank of America clears the higher transactions first, but the highest transaction, which was for Brighthouse, was never even cleared. That transaction is still pending while the other ones have been paid. My online account shows Bank of America deducting overdraft fees while my account still has a positive balance! I had the funds in my account for the 3 smaller transactions to be paid, and all were paid for, but I'm still being charged four overdraft fees by Bank of America. In all I'm being charge $140.00. I feel like this is a huge scam. What is beyond me is that they haven't even paid my largest transaction or cleared it, and I'm being charged for three transactions that were already cleared. When I talked to a supervisor over the phone he told me that I couldn't rely on online banking to be completely accurate and that I should use a transaction register instead. I asked him what was the point of even having online or over the phone banking if I can't even rely on it to be accurate. The supervisor refused to give me a courtesy of deducting some of the overdraft fees, and when I told him I couldn't pay it all he told me that if I didn't pay within 20 days I could set up a payment plan- which I can't do because I have direct deposit and the fees will already be deducted from my deposited check automatically.
