I purchased a Dell Inspiron lap top from Best Buy in Riverbank, CA in Aug. of 2012.  I spent $1,000 on the laptop, programs, virus protection, taxes and service of Geek Squad to set it up. In six months, I had to take it back when it simply stopped working.  They said that the mother board, optical drive, hard drive and power button all needed to be replaced.  They ordered the parts from Dell and Geek Squad did the repairs.

Now, in Feb. 2014, just 11 months after all that work was done, the mother is out again.  I broaght it back and they said they could not help me unless I pay full price to fix it, and need to pay $100 to have the hard drive backed up.  So now, am I expected to pay to have the mother board replaced every 6 to 11 months!!!!!  What kind of service is that.

I called Dell, they wouldn't help.  I called 1-800-Geek Squad. No help there.  Then the corporate number of Best Buy.  They referred me back to the store where I purchased the computer.

I took it back, spoke to the manager (Anthony).  Expressed that this is unacceptable.  I should not have to keep replacing the motherboard every 6-11 months.  A computer should last longer than that.  I paid $1,000! for this computer and now it's gabage!  He was very rude and offered zero customer service.  Manager Anthony was holding back laughing at the notion that they should take better pride in their work.

My recommendation to all consumers:  Never buy a Dell computer.  Never, Never buy anything from Best Buy.  And Never, Never Never have any service done by Geek Squad!!  They will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you to buy there.  But, will never give you any kind of customer service.

This was the worst case of NON-customer service I have ever experienced!

I just wanted to clarify that my response was to the first rebuttel titled "Why!?" by the jerky guy, not the second one who was more polite.

Thanks

Sounds like you support bad product suppliers and customer service

You bet I shouldn't have pay for it.  The only thing I added was Microsoft word and treated this piece of junk delicately.  So, braniac, you're saying that I should accept paying $1,000 and pay every 6-11 months to have the mother board replaced.  Is that what you would do money bags.

If I feel that's bad service, that's my right.  And if they want to make a good name for themselves, they need to concentrate on making customers happy.

You should go back in your hole now.

Sounds like the Geek Squad shotgunned the first fix...

"They said that the mother board, optical drive, hard drive and power button all needed to be replaced"

Looks like they replaced about everything but the keyboard and display.  Doesn't seem feasible.  Was the factory warranty for 12 months?  Did you buy an extended warranty?  I know Best Buy aggressively offers them. It's been 18 months since you bought it.  Are you using the original power supply that came with it?

Sorry you're having problems, but your warranty is long expired.  A repair does NOT restart it.

Nope, I don't work for Dell, Best Buy or Geeks.

How exactly is ANY of this BestBuys fault. Or Dell for that matter? Neither of them USED the laptop, thats ALL on you. YOUR choices in what programs you installed. Your choices on how its used. If you are having equiptment failure then thats on YOU. All your showing the web is you just dont want to pay for the repairs YOU have caused to YOUR laptop and are looking for the FLIMSIEST of excuses to force the deeper pockets to pay for YOUR problem.

I find this report to be a BLATANT LIE!!! It is VERY clear that this poster is ONLY looking to get their toy repaired for free so THEY do not have to. They have resorted to outright lies online and thankfully BestBuy has a legal remedy for the FOOLS who wish to post their lies as fact. They have BETTER lawyers then you could ever afford, anyone who reads your post is going to see the same as I have. A spoiled little child crying because they broke their toy and dont want to pay for it.

Get over yourself princess.
