Beyond Fitness Fraudulently accepted member fees but never opened the gym - no refund 18 months later Cary North Carolina

I reside in the Triangle are of NC. I have done extensive research on Beyond Fitness and Randall Rohm, et al and have acquired a massive file. Also, I have had direct and on-going correspondence regarding this situation with a couple of local reporters in my area.

The telephone number given in the lastest news reoprt 08/02/2006 via the Better Business Bureau appears to be not much more than a message center for those who desire a refund. Who knows how long this can take.

For those of you who are having difficulting with receiving any co-operation from Beyond Fitness's collection agency, Aphelion, Inc., pehaps, I can help. Last week, I was able help a Beyond Fitness victim have past due billings discharged, along with a cancelled membership.

Each case/situation is different, but if you would like to wend me the details of your story, I may be able to resolve your situation. If not, I will add your story to those that I am compiling for a local reporter in my area.

For those of you from the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area of NC, it is advised that you do not join or utilize any Beyond Fitness membership at the locations, now called, "So-Fit" aka "Southern Fitness", at this time.

Many people ask about the Wake Forest Beyond Fitness that never opened.

Members there were promised refunds and some still have not received those refunds.

According to the N.C. Attorney General's Office, they are aware that Beyond Fitness is under new ownership and say the new owners have set up a process for those people to get a refund within 30 days.

While it is frustrating that this particular gym in question did not open as planned, Beyond Fitness does have numerous other gyms in the area and your membership entitles you to use any of the other locations. Looking at their web site, there is a location in north Raleigh that is quite close to Wake Forest. Why not utilize your prepaid membership by working out at this location instead?
