I recently purchased (or i believe) a Chevy Venture Minivan. A sales rep contacted me the day after they recieved a email saying i was approved for no money down with a trade in on a 1995 Pontiac Transport. As far as sales rep. the service was good. The problem I am having is in your financing Department. I provided them with all forms or documantation to prove residency, employment.

National Credit Car Inc. was the appointed Loan application which was said to be approved. With an unpaid balance of $52002.58. In that deal i would have a extended warranty. Only to find out a couple of days later it was not accepted. I was contacted at work and was told to come in and that i had to sign more papers they had to change finance companies. I arrived that afternoon thinking all i had to do was sign papers for the new financer.

In reality i was asked to sign paper work, with out a warranty and I had to come up with $500.00 with in two weeks. Or i had to turn the car back in. I did not have $500.00 to turn in. I turned in my entire Check i recieved just to give them what they asked for. Keep in mind I made several unecessary trips because of this. I truely did make a choice I wanted to keep this vehicle. They told me to purchase this car and it would improve my credit.

When I gave them my check I was happy to own this car even though it has no airbag, horn, and a dent on the right side of the car. Only because it was better than what I was driving. I am not a first time buyer this is my first loan. I have purchased cars but cash only. I would not be making a fuss until today. June 22, 2004 6:53 pm I was contacted again out of about thirty phone calls and about 15 trips to Bill Heard about paper work. Someone Named Tony called and said I needed to write a letter to my Leasing office giving permission to release information like am i behind on my rent, am i a resident, how long I have been living there.

I don't know the limitations of how far you can go into peoples lives to get a car. This is very personal to me. Like i said i gave them $500.00 which was not intended for this car ( that was suppose to be no money down with a trade in). I gave Bill Heard my rent money. I purchase insurance also for this vehicle. In words I made this car my priority. My leasing office is not going to like that. I agreed to late fee's on my rent to make this purchase. I keep getting grief signs that i should give this car back.

Tony told me i should bring his car back if the leasing office refuses to release information. This is not a joke. This is what he said. Like i owe him something. This contract is made binding my name and responsibility. I put my rent money down gave him my car which has no note and I'm treated like i have to beg for a car. I just want to Pay my note and get on with my life. I feel like i'm being cheated and there is nothing else I can do. I need transportation but i don't need the attitude and mistreatment. I don't know what can be done or what you can do.

I have done all i was asked your salesman can tell you i came prepared to buy. My rent is late because i wanted this car and he wants to know if I'm on time paying my rent come on. He was not worried about that when he took my rent money. Pleas respond to this. Thank you

The basis of your problem is that you drove off in their vehicle. If you would have refused to take delivery or make a down payment until everything was finalized...you would not be in this position...or at a minimum, you would not be in any way obligated to the deal. You would be free to explore other buying options. My advice is take the vehicle back, get your down payment and trade-in back. If they don't agree with this, tell them that you have already contracted on the vehicle and you consider it a done deal (I only hope you got a copy of the finance contract). NEVER sign something without the understanding that you will get a copy immediately of what you signed...and make sure you read and understand everything that you sign.

Lenders do in some cases ask or require additional documentation. You are a higher credit risk for some reason...past credit, lack of credit or whatever reason. That is why you should have a copy of the contract before you leave with the vehicle...this binds the dealership to accept the deal as it is and you would not be responsible to provide any more documentation.

$52,002.58 for a Chevy minivan...sounds like your best bet is to get out of that deal and consider yourself fortunate...
