My venture actually started at Bill Heard Chevrolet (BHC) of Kennesaw Georgia. I was treated like a sale and not a customer so I told my wife I was done dealing with BHC.
My wife said she had spoke with Justin Cole at the BHC of Union City Ga, and I should give him a chance. I called and spoke with Justin Cole and he told me that if I came in he would put me with the BEST salesman he had. I said o.k. I show up and Henry Culpepper greeted my wife and I and I told him I was there to speak to Justin.
Take a wild guess who Justin's best salesman was! Yep it was Henry Culpepper. How FREAKING IRONIC. I found the truck I wanted. I first got the quote of $14,999.00 and we were off to work the deal.
Now my Credit is not the best due to a bankruptcy so I new I would have to endure a steep interest rate. I was fine with that. What I did not understand was the fact on a 60 month loan my monthly payment was going to be an estimated $515.00 a month. Now do the math. $515.00 x 60 months = 30,900.00
Where in the name of all that is AMERICAN do these people get off. Maybe someone can tell me if the intrest system is a complex one but I gathered that after BHC told me that there was a $499.00 DOCUMENTARY FEE, like I don't know that means I have to pay them to fill out the paperwork.
I wrote a letter to BHC of Union City and am awaiting there response. If I am wrong on my thoughts please rebutt and help me understand why they are trying to get me to pay double for the truck. I might be bankrupt but I d**n sure ain't stupid.

Shayne, do you know anything about Bogus Billy? Either you don't or you are defending them for other reasons.
Bogus Billy has been in trouble in many areas they operate in. Bogus Billy had to pay several hundred thousand dollars to the State of Florida in connection with FRAUD/DECEPTION.
Bogus Billy is KNOWN for the SPOT DELIVERY SCAM, DEALER FEE CON-GAME, and many other slimed over pond scum schemes.
The figures you ran thru regarding interest rates may be correct and apprpriate for sub-standard credit. However, BOGUS BILLY is WELL KNOWN for extra official sounding fees and charges.
BOGUS BILLY...the name says it all!

I work in the loan business so Ill let you know whats going on since you arent really sure.
You said that they were going to charge you double. That is exactly how much you should be paying. A $15,000 car at 25% interest gives you a finance charge of about $15,000, making the total price of the car about $30,000. Now if you have a bankruptcy you are probably looking at closer to 29% which would up the finance charge a couple grand.
Secondly the doc fee is not you paying them to fill out paperwork. The state and finance companies and title companies all charge the dealer a processing fee for these documents. Thats why you pay a doc fee.
Hopefully this helps and you can go back and buy the car from the dealership that was willing to finance you even with bad credit.
