You Need To Find Out If The Lien was Perfected

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 13, 2007

Drop the attitude Tina - now.

Check out the court system to see if they were able to perfect the lien. There is a process of filing a preliminary lien before the actual lien is filed and that period varies from state to state, but I believe Texas is a state that allows a business to have more time to file a preliminary lien than others. If the prelim was filed and the actual lien filed soon afterward, they may have indeed perfected the lien and you may need to consult a lawyer to discuss your options because you may not be able to do it yourself. If you try to have the lien lifted yourself and then screw it up - you will likely be SOL to have it lifted unless you pay lots of $$. Find out what your options are without the attitude and do what needs to be done.

Best of luck.
