I took my car to Brakes Plus October 11th, 2005, to have new brakes added to my car. I bought the ceramic brake pads and after the job was, done my car was not stopping like it should. The brakes would skip and when I would stop my car it would actually move a little.

I took the car back and Brakes Plus said one of the pads was actually cracked, so they replaced it free. Unfortunately, the car still kept moving forward while I was braking. I took the car back twice and they said they could not find the problem and they said it was braking fine.

I took the car home as I didn't have the money to have someone else look at the problem. I drove my car out of town and after my visit, I decided to drive home. As I was driving home, I tried to slow down for construction on Interstate 25 and my car would not stop. I slowed to 25 mph and rear ended someone. I knew my car was not going to stop, I was screaming and standing on my brakes. I told my mom and kids to hold on cause we were going to hit the person in front of me. I did swerve and clipped the right side of his bumper.

I took the car after that to John Elway Chrysler Jeep on Broadway in 5445 S. Broadway, Littleton CO and the service adviser Leslie Larson told me the brake pads were bad and that I needed new brakes. I told them they were new and if I was to replace them I needed them to put new ones on and save the old ones for the insurance company so I could prove the accident was not my fault. Leslie assured me she would save the brakes.
Leslie replaced the brakes for $500.00 and threw the old ones away. The insurance adjuster kept calling her to get the pads and she avoided the adjuster and put the comments in the computer that there was nothing wrong with the brake pads. Now why would I pay $500.00 for brakes when there was nothing wrong with them?

The problem did stop after the new brakes were installed but I still got taken by Brakes Plus for $149.00 and by John Elway Chrysler Jeep for $500.00 and not to mention I was charged with the accident because I took the car on the road knowing there was a problem with the brakes. My insurance did go up because I caused $1000.00 damage to the other vehicle.

Pretty expensive lesson for a single parent don't you think? Now I only go to the dealership I bought the car from for repairs.
