cablevision im writing this report on behalf of my mother. cablevision been ripping her off for the past couple of years. norwalk Connecticut

•  before i moved to florida in september 2012 i had optimum as my internet provider. i told my mother to cancel the internet service.she used to have at&t  as a phone service. cablevision kept telling her that she needed to keep the internet service even though she didnt have a computer it was mine. i kept telling her to cancel the phone service and switch back to at&t to keep from getting charged for internet service that she didnt need!

my mothers old shes 78 years old. even though i argued with her constanly to get rid of the phone service from cablevision and switch back to at&t she wouldnt! even though her bill shouldnt be more than 115 dollars a month shes  been paying them close to 140, 150 dollars a month! the senoir citizen complex she lives in [charter oaks community] doesnt allow dish network or direct tv . theres no other cable service in that area or not allowed i dont know therefore cablevision has a monopoly there thinking they could do as they please.

anyways i been going over her payment history over the past two or three years. i estimate she overpaid them between 250 and 300 dollars over this period. my mothers on a fixed income and cant afford to keep paying these outrageous bills that they keep sending! when i complain to them it doesnt do no good! they threaten to cut off her service if she doesnt pay the bill! shes afraid thats what theyll do. last month i tried to straighten this bill out! i told them that all she needs is basic cable and basic phone  service which they told me should be 108 dollars so i figure with taxes around 120 dollars! they got sent 170 dollars by both me and my mother which should have brought her account up to date with some credit even. they said my mother owed them 300 dollars instead. i tried to get her account info. online cause i knew that was bull  bu i got informed i needed the account no. plus her seriaL no. for the box. thats when i had enough!
