Yesterday I received a call on my business line and I answered by saying "this is Stacie." The gentleman then said "Stacie, this is Jacory Williams of Calvary Portfolio Services regarding your auto market account." I stated that I do not recall the name Calvary Portfolio Services or having an Auto Market Account.

He said that he is a collection agency for auto loans and mine is overdue. I asked if he had the right person. He said are you "Stacey A. McConnell?" I said "no." He said "well when you answered the telephone you said "this is Stacie . . . why are you lying to me now?" I stated that Stacie is my name, however, McConnell is not my last name, it never has been in the past and never will be in the future. He then became irate with me and insinuated that people like me with overdue accounts are liars. He stated that he had my credit report in front of him and it had my past three employers listed one of which was Hooters and that the last four digits of my social security number were 9877. I said that is all incorrect.

He then asked me why I was lying about all of this and I said I have never worked at Hooters in my life and that 9877 is not the last 4 digits in my social security number.

He then asked me to give me my social security number . . . and I said "over my dead body." He became more and more irate with me, again insinuating that I am some low-life that doesn't pay their bills. I finally got angry at Jacory and said "listen . . . "I do not have, nor have I ever had an automobile loan and said that I believe he is a scam artist." He again became more beligerent with me . . . and unfortunately I became more angry with him. I finally asked him his name again, company name, address and telephone number. He asked why I wanted it after giving it to me . . . I said to report you to the BBB and any other authority that will deal with scum like him. He then hung up on me. End of story.

I went to my computer and typed in Cavalry Portfolio Services, Tempe, AZ and saw that they were on a ripoff report as a scam artist. So I am here to add to the other reports that they are still persistent on 10/18/2005. I was smart enough to know that it was a scam; however, I am worried about the millions of Americans who are either elderly or do not know any better that get ripped off by people like Jacory Williams of Cavalry Portfolio Services. Now I see in other searches that they are looking for "collection specialists" on careerbuilder.com (Tempe Customer Service Sales jobs on CareerBuilder.com ...

Give me a break!

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
