Cambridge Who's Who Cambridge Who's Who Attempt at Extortion Uniondale New York

I just received a phone call from a person representing Cambridge Who's Who. My question is, "Who are these people?" I think it is a brilliant gimmick -- they appeal to the victim's pride in being "honored" as a member in their directory. Let's face it, I know I have done nothing in my life that many hard working people haven't done -- why should I be selected?

My story is the same as many others who have been targeted by these predators. They need to follow up by conducting an interview for biographical information; they can offer you this wonderful Platinum membership (approx. $800 - one time for a lifetime membership) - Wow, what a deal! Then, if this is too much, they can offer you one a little less, but still just as prestigious, and then finally, the bottom line is $289. The thing that makes me ashamed is that I almost fell for it, then a loud voice basically SCREAMED at me (inside my head) and said STOP! I know God was trying to warn me.

I told the representative "I don't feel good about this and I am hanging up." I actually had my debit card in hand -- CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT! I hung up so fast. The thing is, she didn't call me back and then I knew it was a scam (also they were relentless in attempting to get in touch with me -- tenacious is an understatement! However, their phone number was "Restricted" which should have told me something.

These people must be sociopaths; they absolutely have no conscience. Can't anything be done about these people? I worry about the older folks. Our world, as we knew it, no longer exists!
