My wife received a suspicious looking letter from Cambridge Who's Who stating that "she was recently appointed as a biographical candidate to represent New York, NY in the 2009/2010 online Cambridge Who's Who Registry among Executive and Professional Women". She had not done anything particularly extraordinary that would cause a legitimate organization to honor her in such a manner. I got on my PC & typed into Google "Cambridge Who's Who complaints" and was directed to this website. All of the other complaints that we found confirmed her suspicions.
Intersting to note that the letter states that there is no cost to be included in the Cambridge Who's Who registry but we have determined that this statement is false based upon the complaints that other people have posted on this website.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Actually, I was listed for free

I, too, received the letter, filled out the online form and received the same phone call as mentioned on the other 3 pages of complaints. Here's where you have to be smart. After the 15 minute interview, I was offered only the $769 Platinum lifetime package or the $569 5yr Gold package. Upon refusal, I was then offered the 3 yr $369 Silver package (intended for nonprofits only). Still refused. Then the $189 2yr package. Still no. Lastly the $99 1yr package. After a hard sell, I refused all and never gave my cc info (duh!). I was then told in about 3 seconds followed by a hangup, that I would be listed for free. So they did as was stated in the letter.
