I paid my credit card bill on line on the due date at 12:06pm PST. The next day they charged me a $39.00 late fee because my payment did not post until the following day!! Apparently I was 6 minutes late with my payment. So then, after they tacked on the late fee, that put me over the limit, so they charged me a $39.00 overlimit fee. They are robbers! Don't do business with them. CAPITAL ONE SUCKS.

Really?

"Just so you know with the new credit card legislation coming out in 2010 so credit card companies are no longer able to charge overlimit fees."

Really?  Kindly post the legislation that BANNED over the limit fees.  Which House Resolution or Senate Bill does this?

What I have read is that they WILL be able to charge OTL fees, but that IF THE ACCOUNT FEES (interest, monthly service fee, etc.) cause the over the limit condition, they will have to afford the account holder a period of time to bring the balance down before the OTL fee can be assessed.  IF the account holder makes a charge that causes the OTL fee, the fee will be assessed immediately.

Just so you know with the new credit card legislation coming out in 2010 so credit card companies are no longer able to charge overlimit fees. But they will probably increase your APR.

PS. All companies have a cutoff time and you made a payment after that time, no Ripoff completely your fault.

The website probably tells you payments made today will be posted the next business day or some other such language.

YOU apparently didn't abide by that provision, so its their fault, right?
