I signed up for their cruise the first time in July 2009. Due to all of deceptive practices used during the solicitations, I filed suit against Caribbean Cruise Line, Daniel Lambert, James Verrillo and a few other corporate defendants in Cook County, Illinois, case number 2009-M5-1431. I then purchased another package from them in November and they are still using deceptive practices so I am going to be filing another suit shortly. I'm curious if any other Illinois residents have been scammed by these guys. If so, I would be interested in speaking with you. I dont think I can give my number out on this site but one could certainly call the Cook County Clerk and ask them what phone number they have on file for me on the case listed above if one was so inclined.

I should have said "many complaints" I dont know for sure that there were 'thousands" but there have been a lot against Ramada Plaza Resorts. Actually this is NOT a scam. It is a package vacation utilizing rather basic hotels and a second rate cruise line (compared to Carnival, RCI etc). Prices are pretty cheap but some say that it would be cheaper to arrange it independently. Some travellers liked the hotels and ship trip.

The biggest complaints came from individuals who decided they wanted to cancel and had a problem getting a refund. It IS possible to get a refund but you have to write a legal letter with copies to various state officials and make it obvious to Ramada Plaza Resorts that it would be better to simply pay you off. This has been done many times.

You booked a cruise in July, decided that they were deceptive and filed suit against them . Then you dealt with them again in November???? If I were you I would have left them alone after the first problem. This is like the guy who hits his head with a hammer, compains about a headache then keeps on doing it. Sorry but I don't have a lot of sympathy for you. Perhaps you will make a few bucks out of Lambert who must feel like he has been through the wringer after thousands of complaints against his operation.
