I recieved the card and immediatly read every word. I was totally scared. They have it worded, that basically is a total threat to you. They want to get you to use the card and if you don't then it's a threat.

They say they will, if you don't activate your card "2" days after your FREE activation period is over.Which it does not say anywhere on the contract when that "2" days is automatically debit your account of $199.99.

I went straight to the Sheriff's department and reported it to them. I then went to my bank and (I'm on disability) showed them everything and i had to make a Stop Payment Request for the amount they say they will debit. And that cost me money that I don't have. I don't know if they have my routing # or checking acct. #.

I called my states Attorney General's Office and have the form to fill out and send back to him. And they will sign a mediator to investigate them.

I have tried since I got the card to call the toll free number, they also have the other number....1-702-734-1212. I haven't been able to get through. And when it's not busy, they don't answer.

Report this to your Law Enforcement, Attorney General and get to your bank as soon as possible. This is a major ripoff and they need to be stopped. Now I have to sit and watch my statements wondering if they can somehow debit that amount even though I had to pay for a Stop Payment Request. I don't like being threatened. And If i start getting bills from them I will contact the ADA as I am protected under that act for people who have disabilities.

EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back!

HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO:

Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish you file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E.

According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days.

If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 # , and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges.

Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent!

DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!

Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/comptroller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get.

And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state.

Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth.

If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.

And good luck Let us know how you do!

Yet another likely victim... found it interesting the number of states that this offer was not valid in

AUTHOR: Julie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 23, 2005

I received this card as well: if it appears too good to be true it usually is. Luckily found this website with other people's reports. I plan to report to my state Attorney General's office and suggest everyone else do the same.

Also found it interesting the number of states that this offer was not valid in (most likely because those states Atty General's reports filed).

POSTED: Monday, March 21, 2005

I just received the card and the letter from ccs first national card. Do they already have my account # then?
How are they gonna charge me if they dont have my account.
I was scammed at a website a few weeks ago and gave them my debit card info. Any way that they somehow got my card?
Also what should I do. Just ignore them or block my account. Since I dont know if they have my account or not.

I to would have fallen victim

AUTHOR: Gina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 20, 2005

I'm wondering all these cards they're sending out has anyone gotten the brilliant idea of suing THEM for harassment, or fraud? I know we all are on a strict income these days with prices rising anywhere from youe gallon of milk to the gas for your car.

Wouldn't it be nice if this company "First National Card" had to pay out millions for harassing someone into giving them their account information! I know I would LOVE to see them go not only out of business but have to pay out millions for a lawsuit!! Hmmm..sounds good to me, I like I'll be calling my lawyer tomorrow. I didn't activate the card, but I did call the 800# and then the (702)# because I don't have a bank account, but I probably would have fallen victim to their scram as well. I had talked to my husband and said I would like to do it, and then got to thinking "I would really like to see what kind of merchandise they sell" before agreeing to anything...that's what brought me to do a search on the company online to begin with.

I'm so glad for the world wide web and being able to look this company up and finding all the reports on here about them. I am however very sorry to hear so many have been ripped off by this company. I'm sure it all will bite them in the butt real soon what they are doing!!

AUTHOR: Melinda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 17, 2004

I got the card a few months back just out of the blue. I never activated it and in fact just found it again. I did not rember what it was so I looked it up and found this site. So glad I did.

So how do they get our money if we dont activate the card? I am a little confused on that.

My credit is shot to start with so the merchant would probably just laugh if they ever tried to get anything with it. I have noticed some unexplained charges on my bank statments but it is hard to track them down.

Spotting the 'First National Card' fraud is easier than you think

AUTHOR: Ayo - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 26, 2004

I live temporarily overseas, but got my forst shock when the First National Card guys sent me an unsolicited mail in which was enclosed a nice looking card and a promise of over $6000 credit line.

I hit google search engine and punched the word 'First National Card'. Alas!, much to my suspicion, I discovered that the company is fraudulent and had been in business for long with lorry loads of litigations trailing them.

My advice to unsuspecting vitims is that they should just ignore them just as I did and they sent in a second card. Do not call or make enquries after being satisfied of their illegal activities through search engines. If you provide them with your ssn, you are doomed and dont even make the mistake of letting them know your checking account number.

I guess they have collaborators among law enforcement agencies or even the bankers.

HOW COULD THEY HAVE OPERATED FOR SUCH A LONG TIME WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS?

I also tried activating my CCS card. now that i know it was previously CCA, I am glad I dont have a checking account. They wouldnt activate my card unless i sign the agreement and send it back with the 199.99 then supposedly they would send me a check after my first purchase of $500 or more. Something hit me as fishy on that so I did a yahoo search and that is where i came to this site. I read the comment about the woman with her daughter being on Disability and i have recently signed my daughter up for it. I thank you all for posting this information and urge everyone to keep doing it.

I tried to call back numerous times but when I enter one of the plethera of codes they give you there is a message that says "we are having trouble computing your touch tone phone. I'm sorry you were a victim of this company as well. They are very misleading and have horrible customer service. I have a suggestion for you. I was involved with this company and they debited my account. I wrote a letter to the Better Business Bureau of Las Vegas and they took care of it for me. I received a letter in the mail from CCS to sign and return and I got a full refund with an apology. I'm suggesting that you report them to the BBB as well. At least that way they will have another complaint against them. Good luck!

Read the fine print

AUTHOR: Elisa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 05, 2004

I too received a letter and approved card in the mail. However, before I called any numbers or got my hopes up I researched what I was getting myself into. First I wanted to see this "catalog" and see what it had, then I decided to read the fine print. It's all there in black and white!

Read the front and the back and all your questions will be answered. And, if it sounds too good to be true, then it is!! It's hard being a person with bad credit, but just think how well everything would be if you didn't get yourself into this mess... then companies wouldn't take advantage of your bad judgement.

They shouldn't be in business, but they are. Because of people not reading what they're getting themselves into. I can sympathize, but again, that's why this site is here and why we're given the choice to join or to discard!

Not only did I do a stop payment request. NOW.......... they are calling me and sending me bills saying I owe my monthly fee and for what I bought in their bogus catalog. I'm tired of being harrassed by them. So you contact your states attorney general. and put a traser on your phone. The phone company will let you know if it was a sucssesful trace. I'll report them to the ADA. I'm on disability and I am protected. I don't know how they got my # but they did.
