Celebrity Resorts Their financial problems shouldn't be mine Orlando Florida

I am a current owner of Celebrity Resort property at Indian Shores and have been since 2001. Originally purchased from Ramada Inn Vacation Suites in Las Vegas, I elected to trade for a resort closer to my home (Georgia) while ownership was still Ramada. For what ever reasons, Ramada sold the resort side to Liesure Resorts which inturn went bankrupt. The assets were then acquired by Celebrity. Here enters the problem.

Under the first 2 companies, I never once had any problems booking within my time schedule. I never had problems with my yearly dues, taxes or other billings related to my property. Since Celebrity acquired the property, I've had nothing but problems. My annual dues nearly doubled from approx. $360 to $680. On top of this I was also charged in '05 a SPECIAL 1 time assessment of approx. $900 to offset the legal cost of the acquisition. This year again the company has elected to charge another SPECIAL assessment of $1000 with little or no advanced warning. Not only with the increased financial burden, I have found it nearly impossible to book my time.

First they claimed that they would not honor my purchased agreement which allows me to split my lock out unit into 2 weeks of vacation time if so desired (or 1 week if I use the entire unit). This point they finallly had to agree to as it is DEFINATELY IN MY CONTRACT! Secondly, They demand that I pay a SPECIAL holiday fee to use my unit during either of the last 2 weeks of the year that I specifically required before I would even purchase into the timeshare program. The sad part of the whole deal is I see how their company works. I make a years worth of payments and they tack on 2/3s of the payments back on in SPECIAL assessments. At this rate, I'll never get this thing paid off. Not only this, until I catch up on their assessments I'm locked out of using my unit for any of my vacation time but still having to make the loan payments to keep my credit standing. Celebrity Resorts, what a joke. This is a company that I would have never bought from and do not recommend that ANYBODY ever buy from.
