I was ripped off by cellforcash.com many months ago. Initially, I let it go chalking it up as just another Internet scam, but as time marched on it annoyed me more and more that this company has fleeced countless people just like me, and a person named Mike Mike Mosieur has been bullying and intimidating other complainants on complaint forums like this.

Here are the circumstances of my interaction with cellforcash.com.

Last February I purchased two new iphones for my wife and I. We had two pretty good phones already, so I looked into getting some value back for them. On February 28th, I initiated an order with cellforcash.com. The envelope for the phones came quickly, within just two or three days. I then sent this company my RIM Blackberry Pearl 8100 and my wife's HTC Shadow from T-Mobile.

Cellforcash.com received the phones on March 11th, 2009. On 3/12/2009, the site verified the receipt of the phones and set prices of $44.00 for the Blackberry, and $42.00 for the Shadow. The next two lines on the Transaction Status page are "We cut you a check:" and "Check Amount:," both leaving spaces after the colons for a date and a dollar amount respectively.

Those two lines are still blank to this day.

The website says to allow 45 days for delivery. After allowing the time to pass, I forgot about the cell phones. I then requested a status of my order through their customer service form on the website. I received no response. I tried again and received no response. I have tried e-mail addresses given on other complaint forum websites and have received no response. I have tried calling their 352 area code number and have received no response.

Today, I have posted complaints on this site, and on (((Redacted))). My complaint is far from the first, and certainly isn't the last.

The next contact to cellforcash.com, RMS Communications, and Mike Mosieur will be from my attorney, not just for the $86.00 I am owed, but the countless other people who have not received payment for trusting this company with their cell phones.

Contacted

AUTHOR: patrick doc - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 06, 2010

If I knew it'd take complaining on the internet to get a response, I'd have done this 8 months ago!

Only a day after posting this ripoff report, I was e-mailed by a customer service representative that attempted to explain the situation.  First I was told I never contacted the company.  That is incorrect.  I was told this would be taken care of some time next week.  We'll see what happens.  I am not convinced.  I will update this report with any new information.

Mr. Mossieur, thank you for your response.  Most of the online complaints do not sound like people wanting more money for a broken phone.  People are complaining that they were never paid at all.  Their experiences sound extremely similar to my experience.  For every one complaint filed, there's 1000 people who are experiencing similar problems, but just have not formally complained about it.  Your excuse that this was a rare oversight is simply not believable.

My phones were in good working condition and were appraised at a total of $86.00.  I have already sent e-mail to the address you provided on more than one occasion.  I sent one on Sunday, and another several months ago.  I never received a response from that either.

Now that I have made this complaint public, it seems like its being taken care of.  Hopefully I'll be able to update this report postively when I am finally paid for the phones I sent you 10 months ago.

Thanks again for responding.

Your Cell for Cash Transactions

AUTHOR: Mike Mosieur - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, January 04, 2010

As I have said, if you email me at mmosieur@yahoo.com I will fix whatever problem you have with Cell for Cash. We handle thousands of handsets and other items and get a very small percenatge of complaints. If we handle 30,000 phones and get a 1% complaint rate, thats 300 people, unhappy about something.

While we do screw up and try to be quick about fixing problems, the majority of complaints are from people who said they were sending a $100 phone and we got a $5 phone or the phone we received did not work etc.

Just a comment about my alledged "bullying". Forums like this give people a voice to publish whatever they want with no proof. People seem to feel that whatever the allegation, a business should roll over and appologize even if they are not wrong.

Sorry, I don't buy that. Often, when I look into a complaint from a board such as this, the person is making a bogus claim. We are in the uneviable position of having to respect a persons privacy so we cannot post any details of any transaction.

I look into every complaint I receive. Most complaints that are posted leave out the fact that they sent us the lessor value phone etc, and when I point that out the poster simply posts that I am a "bully" etc. Then there is the inevitable "Mike Mosieur didn't help me" post.

That being said, I will solve your problem if you email me.

Also, have your lawyer email me with a call back number. I have no problem talking with anyone. We have lawyers too.
