Central Credit Services ripoff phone scam Saint Charles Missouri

I was just called by Dan Cook of Central Credit Services. He tried to inform me that I have an outstanding balance of $9,000 on a MasterCard account, and I haven't made a payment since April of 2004.

I've never had a MasterCard. I might worry that someone had stolen my identity except I had just checked my credit report less than a month ago and it is fine. And there were no MasterCards on it.

He told me that I was going to be taken to court in a week unless I made a payment to the bank where the credit card was registered (I forget the name of the bank). I found this very suspicious because credit agencies want you to pay THEM, not whom you are indebted to-- because they may not receive their commission.

When I got sarcastic he said that he was recording the phone call and that they would use the recording in court.

This is the only website where I have found poor activities related to this company. I will be checking with the BBB after this.
