I have been a customer of Charter since I moved to Tennessee a month ago. I thought it was a good choice because I was given a good price to bundle cable, internet and phone with one company. The day after installation, the phone number I got through Charter started ringing off the hook with every kind of offer available.

It was at that point that I realized that the voicemail I was supposed to have did not work. Charter had notified every company offering a product of service that a potential new customer could be reached at the number they installed. The calls were so numerous and frequent that I hooked up an old answering machine with a message instructing telemarketers to hang up and not to call back.

The internet service that was supposed to be "up to 30mbps" was about 12mbps. After may hours of chatting with them online and over the phone, they finally got that up to About 22mbps two weeks later. They said there were "cable issues" in the area.

The DVR manager that I was supposed to be able to connect to online was not available and again after many hours on the phone and online with them, they finally got this corrected three weeks later. HD service is still intermittent and sometimes works and other times I have to watch everything in SD.

I know that AT&T is working on getting fiber optic cable installed in this area and as soon as they do, I am through with Charter. I had Uverse where I lived before and had much better cable service, faster internet (although they only claimed speeds up to 20mbps) and it was much easier to get the one problem I had with service resolved during the two years I was their customer.

Charter offers great services, they just fail to deliver them.
