I have three complaints against Charter Communications:  false advertising and not honoring the contract that we agreed to, and not repairing dangling cable wires that are "outside the house", which is their legal responsibility.

I signed up for internet only service, in response to a promotional ad that I saw on Charter Communications website.  The ad states that I would pay $39.99, but now I am being billed for $44.99, and Charter now indicates that is because I have wirelss.  I was promissed $39.99 for the service that I have, but Charter won't adjust it, nor will they dispute in writing the terms and conditions.  They simply send a bill.

Also, I was promissed no setup fee under a promotional discount, but charger ended up charging me more than $60 for a setup and connection fee.

Most recently Charter Communications came to the house, and I pointed out that the cable wires on the outside of the house were all over the place, and should be fixed.  The technician's response was that they usually install them so that they are not all over the place, but he refused to fix them.  I contacted Charter Communications in person at their Crescent City office, and spoke with a rather smug customer service rep, who indicated that I am being charged $44 for wireless, but I was promissed $39.99 for wireless, and there is no such provision for anything else.  I tried to address the issues with her, and she indicated that the only thing she could discuss was how much I was going to pay today.  She refused to provide me the name of her office supervisor, and said I had to call their toll free number.

I contacted the toll free number, but didn't get anywhere.  I also contacted Charter via chat link, which is on their website, and spoke to someone who indicated the call would be escalated to a supervisor, and that no one in chat coiuld discuss the terms and conditions of service.  i received a voicel mail from a supervisor by the name of Edward, who indicated that they can't send emails to people, and to call him.

Charter is crooked, and guilty of false advertising.  I have taken snapshots of their website promotion, documenting that I am only supposed to be charged $39.99, tax included.  I have b een overcharged for the monthly service, overcharged for the setup fee, and Charter refuses to fix dangling wires on the outside of the house, that is their legal responsibility.  The front side of the house makes my house look unsellable.  Charter hasn't denied that the outside wires are their responsibility, but has chosen not to address it.
