Chase Auto Finance Proof of Payment-Still will not work with me Garden City, New York
You think a company is good until you have to deal with the inside. In December, I received a late notification on my car payment for November due on the 19. After researching on my end I discovered I did make the payment on Nov. 16 through Chase bank with on line bill pay and had a status of paid on Nov. 17. Now, it is December 29 and my payment for Nov. has not been cleared up and they are talking about repossessing my car because I will not make my December payment until my Nov. payment is cleared up since this was not an error on my end or the banks end it was with the Auto Finance end.
Lack of knowledge on my end never knew I needed to be prepare for war and how exactly on my end to handle since this was the first incident I have every had with a company that gave continuous bad service. On December 9, I sent an email to Chase Auto and gave the date of the payment and the reference number. On December 10, I receive an email back stating they were looking into it and it would take seven business days. Collectors were calling me and I explained the situation to them, but never did Anna in collections tell me how to go about handling this situation. She just kept demanding money out of me. Finally, the week of the Dec. 14 I called Customer Service and told them the situation. The representative showed the information sent to Research, she told me she could put a hold on my account to keep collectors from calling me until Dec. 21. Which it should have come out of Research by then. Again, never told me if I needed to do anything further on my end. Come Dec. 21 had not heard back from anyone and the payment is still showing unpaid. On Dec. 22, I contacted the Customer Service again this time they could not help me at all because my account had some type of lock on it and sent to collections. Customer Service sent me to collections. I contacted the bank to inquiry about this payment and at that time, the representative walked me through how to go on line and check to make sure the status of the payment was in paid (which it was) and how to have proof of payment. I called Customer Service they had closed for the day. I called Collections and told them I had proof of payment I wanted to send it and they referred me back to Customer Service. Dec. 22 I called Customer Service they sent me back to collections after going around and around with the collector I finally asked to speak to the Supervisor. I told the supervisor Nancy the situation and she told me to contact on-line banking to verify the account number and account name to where the payment went. Nancy confirmed my account was on hold to keep collectors from calling me. I contacted on-line banking and they contacted Chase Auto, spoke to Nancy, and sent her the information needed for proof of payment. I asked is there anything else I need to do on my end. No. Dec. 23 collectors started calling again. During all this time, I will not make my Dec. 19 payment until my Nov. payment clears and I have shared this with them. Dec. 26 Gei with collections call me. I finally said if you would send me an email stating what is going on with my Nov. payment, I would pay you my Dec. payment today. He said they could not do that. In so many words he said I could rest assure because they had all the documentation on my account as to what is going on. I said that is fine, but I need documentation in my possession. He said they did not have email capability. I said I am sure a company of that size is not behind on technology and I was able to get an email if it went high enough. The conversation finally ended with getting my information for a repo and I said you taking my car. He said no my account was not in that status yet. On Dec. 28, I receive a letter stating I owe them payments for Nov. and Dec. and that if I do not pay by Jan. 3 my car would be repo. This is the exact reason I will not make my Dec. payment because they have not sent me anything stating I still do not owe money for Nov. everything I receive from them through phone conversations or paper is stating I still owe them money for Nov. I told Gei you are asking me to do something that a bank would not do. A bank would not give money to someone who has not made a payment so why would it be good business on my part to give you another payment when Chase has not cleared up the first payment that was paid on time and the error falls within Chase Auto.
It is now Dec. 29 the payment is still not cleared. This experience has showed me the principals in which Chase operates it business off. Maybe it is just the Auto department but it all falls under the name of Chase. What really bothers in all of this how they treat people that are not able to fight their case. Why people lie, there are some honest, trying people out there and in this situation it just shows how the customer really does not mean anything to them it is all about the money. If they care about the person and I got the assurance they had my best interest in store I probably would make my Dec. payment, but I see it as they could care less about people and their rights. All this is very demeaning as a person.
