Chase Credit cards Chase Credit Cards Can't ever pay off a CANCELLED account Abilene, Texas
*Author of original report: Contacted Chase
*Consumer Comment: Suggestion how to handle this
A few months back my accounts with Chase bank (bank card and Best Buy credit card) were terminated by mutual agreement. I have since paid off both accounts completely. Yet they are still charging me interest and other fees every month. I need information as to who I can contact to make them stop charging for accounts that are closed and paid off.

They said that due to their average billing, even though my last balance was zero, they were averaging out over the last three months. And even if I pay off the account, because of the the finance charges would have been added, I have a balance for the next month.

First make sure that you call everyone in charge, if that does not get the fees droped-stop at a brick and physcial Chase Bank, show them your documents-if that does not work and you have exhausted all those options-contact the attorney general in your state. Anytime I have had a problem with Chase-I have gone to a physcial location and they have handled everything well. It is different how people act when they are in your face as compared to over the phone-I hope this helps.
