We hired this company to move us from wisconsin to texas. We worked with the salesman, Brian, for weeks getting our inventory exact. There claim was as long as we did not have anything extra to the inventory list there would be no extra charges. Thye also told us they used there own trucks and people and were no moving brokers. Well here we go. On Memorial day they show up to move us. Here comes a truck with a name on the side of the truck Chicagoland movers.

Thye started going over the paperwork which was wrong, so we had to get a hold of the office. They started loading items up out of our basement. We got the correct paperwork faxed and my wife picked it up. We never signed anything with them. After they had some of the truck loaed, the guys tells us he has to charge us for wrapping up our furniture, he said that would be another $450.00, we argued but said just go ahead.

After they continued he tells us that they are going to have to charge us another $3,000.00 on top of the binding estimate for more space on the truck. We argued with them and told them to stop. The crew calls his boss, not with chase relocation and the guy argues with us and we told him to unload the truck and get out of there. He tells us that he will not unload the truck till we pay him $380.00 cash, to get our stuff off. We already paid Chase relocations a deposit but he said that he still was going to charge us this.

We called the police and they helped us at least get our stuff off the truck without paying anything else. We had to scramble on memorial day to find uhaul trucks and trailers and people to help get our stuff loaded. When we encountered the problem, the salesman at chase would not answer his phone. To day we have not even heard from him. There are so many companies out there like Chase relocation that are scamming people once they have your furniture. Please beware of this Company. Come to find out Chase relocations has never moved anymore over state lines and the salesman lied to us and gave us all knid of stories why thier insurance just went to effect.

REBUTTAL TO KATHY GRUBER-customer posted here

AUTHOR: Joe@chase - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 09, 2009

Hello,
I am the manager for Chase Relocation, and felt the need to IMMEDIATELY adress this above issue. Now, the estiamtor-Brian, spoke with Mr. and Mrs.G(the client above) roughly 30 times over, beginning April 1st-and DURING the actual move May 25th. In those times, the customer made MANY changes to the list-through phone and through email (BRIAN AS OVER 20 emails documenting this)-and each time, he followed protocol and explained that the if the list of items being shipped was accurate-they would not incur an extra charge. They even insisted that $2400 was there budget-which Brian made note of MANY times on file and to the managers. WE like to work with customers, and take there comments into careful consideration, especially in the nationwide financial crisis we'r in currently.

So, after countless changes to the list-it is now May 24th-the day BEFORE the move-and The customer GUARANTEED brian that this was the LAST REVISIONS-and that her "final list" was all they would have. The customer continued to be unsure of the final box count and list inventory-even untill the day before the movedate.Which, to us-is okay.Brian EXPLAINED to them that IF there are ANY extra items-we WILL mention it at pickup.
We realzied that maybe even the customer hadn't fully decided what was being shipped-and that there may be more charges(which of course-the customer WAS explained every time an "update" to the list was made-we have the emails sent to her to prove it).
It is now May 25th,
We arrive the day of the move-and the customer has MANY addtional items,
and has many items left unpacked.Mind you, we ALREADY GAVE (for FREE) 4 WARDROBE BOXES and 2 t.v. boxes to the customer to help her out-even though BRIAN (AND each and every email sent to her) clearly states that boxes aren't free-unless the customer buys them-or we give them x amount for free.
WELL, even with that-we arrive and the customer has MANY more items, and much "packing" left undone.Well, we did everything humanly possible to help-and after countless explanations (through email and over the phone)-the customer still ignored everything-and refused to pay addtionally for the addtional items and packing needed. Now, the addtional amount was for $450.00 ONLY! There was never a charge of $3000.00 addtionally-and the customer called Brian, and even told him the extra charge was $450.00 only. Unfortunately Brian (and myself, and the foreman) ALL told MRS.G that we can't simply waive the fees-but we can leave the items behind. Now, at this point, she agreed with the charges!
Apprently, she realized that she DID have extra items and did use extra materials(not including all the FREE BOXES we gave to her).
So, we began to load, but as we were almost entirely complete-the customer's husband decides that this was not suitable-and demands everything be unloaded. We explain that all the work we'd done had taken over 4 hours of labor alone, and to ask for an unload would require another 3-4 hours of work-and that we DO charge for this. The customer did not agree to this-and called the police.Surely the police arrives, and told her they could do nothing-as she clearly agreed to the cost and signed off on it.
Now, the customer did NOT end up paying for the addtional charge for the labor, and her items were carefully unloaded. After this incident, the customer began to call Brian and threaten him and issue vulagrities-which NO ONE should take-espeically and estimator who HELPED THEM every step of the way.
Nonetheless this customer wanted something for absoultely nothing-and apprently tried taking advantage of the situation. We do regret it came to this-as Brian gave us a lenghty report (along with ALL emails to her) of what a great couple of people Mr.+Mrs. G were-even after the harrasment.I simply feel the need to share spefically what occured-and not allow this to be one-sided, as we also get hit with costs. And, it's not fair that we did EVERYTHING possible to be clear-and the customer STILL had extra items-and although previously she agreed to everything-later recants and says she was "wronged".Mr. and Mrs.Gruber-we wish you both the best-and will GLADLY show you the evidence again that we have through emails and records in case there is still a misundestanding of what occured.
WE JUST hope you learned to be more honest in the future.
