ChevyChevy Chase Bank Interest Rate Hike Rip Off Wilmington Delaware

Guess I am joining the other irrate Chase Bank customers. Looks like a long list. My husband and I are long time Chase Bank customers, with multiple credit accounts and even a home loan. I make all our credit card payments via their own website. The payment gets taken out of our accounts lickity split. I had missed a due date by less than 24 hours (literally) and quickly went online to make my payment. I get my statement today and our interest rate has gone from 0% to 8.99%! I called them to ask they re-instate our interest rate as a courtesy reminding them of our long term status and GOOD TERM status. 3 accounts and a loan and not once a late payment on any of them.

After arguing with the customer service rep that I was listed on the account so why could they not talk to me?? I had to put my husband on the phone to tell them "Yes, talk to my wife". Stupid. I was transfered to the interest department and spoke to a "supervisor". He actually described himself as the 'end of the line'. I don't think I would find CEO in his title. I was told that he could not reverse the interest rate, it was out of his hands. I asked him if has our accounts on his screen. He confirmed all of our accounts and the fact that there has never been a single late payment. But alas, his was the 'end of the line' and there was nothing to be done.

After explaining to Joel we would be moving our accounts elsewhere he asked if I wanted to close the accounts. I told him "No, of course not, we want to keep our unused open accounts with you to better our credit scores!"
It's a shame that these companies treat their customers as throw away commodities. Tsk tsk, and shame on Chase. You better believe I am working feverishly right now to remove all monies from Chase Bank.
