CIC Credit Monitor Service Ripoff The Wolves You are Trying to Avoid Nationwide

I recieved an invite for the free credit report spiel through my credit card site's homepage, and boy, watch out! I figured if my bank recommended it it was safe.

I should've checked the rip-off report first! This company says how important it is to keep your credit safe and so they offer to inform you when your credit report changes. This is if you buy the premium membership.

The trouble is, when you get your free report, they don't inform you when your trial period is up, they automatically charge you $79.95. When I called them to have it removed, first they tried to talk me into keeping it, when I insisted to have the full money refund, they then offered me a $25.00 gift card.

I was almost yelling by now and told them I wanted my $80 back not twenty-five measly bucks! Only after being very harsh was I able to get it back.

As appealing as a free credit report can be, go through you bank or other safe source that doesn't have all these stinking snags to it. Buyer beware!
