Noticed charge of $79.95 on new cc statement, called 800# listed to cancel whatever this was.
First person said we signed up for it on internet, would not refund amount, offered to send us info on the service.
This CIC rep asked us to verify SS#, mother's maiden name, and DOB, WHICH WE DID! (Not being suspicious DUMB DUMB DUMB)
When they asked for our credit card number I flatly refused and said they had no need for it or any business asking for it.
Like NUMEROUS others who called these folks, they said we would be refunded in 7-10 days. NOT LIKELY!
My big fear is not the $79.95 refund which will never happen but that this place has all they need to steal our identity now! Called Experian to file Fraud Watch, will call credit card company tomorrow.

refunded my money

After arguing with several people at the company and having no faith in getting my money back, I actually did receive a (prorated) credit on my credit card. The money is the least of my worries, though, since the company demanded my social security number, DOB, and maiden name of mother before agreeing to the credit. I filed a possible identity theft report with Experian and have a watch on my credit now, but NOT with this company!!
