CIC Credit Monitoring Service ripoff ripoff thieves Orange California
*Consumer Suggestion: In addition to my other post
*Consumer Suggestion: 7 weeks!!??
They charged my credit card $79.95 for their so-called free credit report.
Sneaky because they waited several weeks to finally charge it.
I called them directly at 1-877-513-4175, and they told me that they will "cancel my membership" (??!!) and refund my credit card in 7 weeks...let's see what happens

Consumers should also complain to their State's Department of Consumer Affairs.
I see that you're in New York so here is the link:
http://www.nyc.gov/html/dca/html/complaint.html
I did it in Florida and consumerinfo actually acknowledged in their written response that they "accidentally" charged me for a service that I cancelled way before my 30 day free trial was up.
Save any correspondence you get for future and current lawsuits.
If all of us complain to these organizations, CIC will be slammed in responding to them. That puts a smile on my face after the hassle they put me through.

7 weeks!!??

7 weeks? You're going to accept that?
Call them up and tell them that is not acceptable. It does not take that long. If it is a credit card versus a debit card, you will be charged interest if you don't pay it immediately.
They tried to pull the 7-10 days crap with me. I told them NO WAY. It was refunded within 3 days.
If yours is a credit card, call them back and say you want an immediate refund otherwise you will be disputing it with your bank along with filing a fraud report with the bank. If it is a debit card, your bank may not reverse the charges however, you can still file a fraud affidavit that the funds were taken without your consent.
If no luck, demand a supervisor (they're idiots too, though)...The supervisor I got was a moron, he said there was no one above him but the vice president and he didn't talk to consumers. But that's okay, I wrote him a letter and filed complaints with everyone I could. I got my $79.95 plus all my bounced check fees.
Do not hang up the phone until you get a more acceptable deal than 7 weeks cause that is BULL.
