I purchased a Zenith 27" HDTV model ZENC27V36 on July 06, 2004. As of March 12, 2007, 2 years and 8 months later, the television went out completely without any prior symptoms.

I did not pay the huge cost of extended warranty, but I did not think I was paying $449.97 for a television that would last less than 3 years!!! Beware!!!! Circuit City said they would have someone call me regarding my complaint that they should care if they are selling junk...they never called!

Zenith said they would make note, what a joke. I did a search on the internet just Google Zenith...you will see there are alot of complaints about them.

I used to recommend Circuit City to friends and family when they were buying a computer, just 2 months ago as a matter of fact a friend was looking for a computer. I sent her to the local Circuit City. NEVER AGAIN!!! I have purchase many things there...and will never again. Costco is my electronics store from now on...they back what they sell and sell at a fair price!

Out of warranty - How is it the store's fault?

AUTHOR: Greg - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 03, 2007

There is a reason that items are different prices in the stores. Personally, I would not buy a Zenith, due to past experiences with the quality of their products.

Also remember that any number of things can happen to cause a failure in a product such as a television. Power surges can easily cause something like this...whether or not the TV is on.

The warranty was over...therefore your coverage from the manufacturer had ended. Next time you should consider getting the extended warranty in case you do have another problem in the future.
Blaming Circuit City, or even Zenith, for the problem, is barking up the wrong tree.

As you stated, you were offered a protection plan through Circuit City on your product and you declined. When you declined coverage through us you agreed that you wished to deal with the manufacture and their warrenty in the event that you TV went defective. Circuit City is not to blame for this situation. We sold the product and offered an extended warrenty on it. We did not build it.

Maybe next time you'll purchase a protection plan on a high-dollar electronic.
