CIT Lease Finance Group ripoff Chicago Illinois
*Consumer Suggestion: Contact the Consumer Protection Division in Illinois
Like everyone else that has reported CIT, our experience is no differetn. My wife signed a lease and the business is now closed. We have tried to work with them to understand what it would take to make it go away, and have received the same threats: Pay us everything we want or we will ruin your credit. Further, they would not tell us the details of the financial arrangement, ie. the amount paid for the credit card machine and the interest rate, but rather became very angry when we asked the questions and refused to provide any other information. Again just making threats, which we call extortion.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Contact the Consumer Protection Division in Illinois
AUTHOR: Glen - (U.S.A.)

The same has happened to a client of mine. After weeks of trying to 'negotiate' with the company over the phone and by mail, we complained to the Attorney General of Illinois, sending our complaint to the Consumer Protection Division. We discovered we were complaint number 185. This resulted finally in a 'settlement' offer from the company. You should document all the calls you have made to the company and keep records of any bills and letters you exchanged, then package it up and send it off to the AG's office. Also notify the credit reporting agencies of any possible negative reports regarding the matter. GOOD LUCK.
