Clearwire falsely advertises lightening fast hi-speed internet.
Signed a two year contract and the service barely functions at dial up speed.
Hours wasted talking to customer service and tech support.
Minutes of cell phone time wasted talking to this company.
Now they want me to try and sell their product for them to some sucker on craigslist to avoid paying an early termination fee when they are the ones not living up to the contract.
Not only am I complaining here and every other web site I can think of, I am also contacting the attorney generals office and the BBB.
Buyer beware. These folks are deceptive and will get you to hang on and keep paying as long as they can by lying about the work that is being done to resolve the issue. Not once has anyone fixed the problem in the last year or offered to compensate me for the loss of time and headaches and money.
Their only solution is to ask me to sell their product for them on craigslist.
Unethical business practices.

Clearwire has changed it's name

Now Clearwire is going by the name of "CLEAR" and now trying to sell their poor service in Las Vegas, NV. I hope that people really read these post and know that the complaints about Clearwire are real. They are a very deceptive company. If you do get there service just know a few things. You will have to use a credit card. You will have to sign a contract that has an early termination fee if you cancel service after the 7 day trial period. You will deal with underpaid incompetent people. Your bandwith will be monitored and if you use too much, they will throttle your speed to a crawl. The service is not to be used for anything but occasional web browsing and email. Meaning you can't really use it for gaming or downloading large files. The weather does effect the service as do double pained windows. This is just not a good internet service provider.

This goes out to all those individuals who feel they have had a bad experience with ClearWire. ClearWire is a great company and have a great product. Does the product they sell work for everyone? Lets be honest, No it doesn't. That is why Clearwire offers a 7 day trial period. ClearWire doesn't guarantee that their product will benefit everyone. Clearwire doesn't even guarantee the speed of their service and you would know this if you caught on to key words such as a download/upload speed of UP TO XXXmb/kb. The key words are Up To. Clearwire gives you an option of commitment and non commitment plans to choose from. As with many cell phone providers, cable companies etc, there are commitments, a 1-2 year contract. Once you enter into a contract and you decide to break that contract because you are not satisfied, an early termination fee may/will apply. Those types of companies too give you a trial period as well to try out the product. If you are not happy with the product you return it within the allotted time allowed and you are refunded your money with no problems. How would you know this? This type of information is within a company's Terms of Service. How many times have you filled out something on line, or were given a pamphlet of the terms of service? My question to you is how many times have you sat there and took the time to read through those terms of service? With Clearwire you get your equipment, you take it home and you plug it in. You then have to click a box that you are agreeing to the TOS. You must click this box to proceed to the internet. Did you actually take the time to read the Terms of Service? Probably not since that would take you too long to do and you are anxious to get onto the internet. Many consumers like to pass the blame. We consumers need to take some of the blame and hold ourselves accountable for our own actions and outcomes. Clearwire has a great Customer Service department as well as a great Tech department always willing to help out with any connectivity problems or billing issues. Clearwire strives to provide consumers with the best product and services. I myself am a happy consumer. We consumers make our own decisions. Thier may be 500-1000 unhappy customers, but a company like Clearwire has thousands more happy customers. Remember if you want to cancel your service, cancel your service within the trial period, and send the equipment back. Doing these 2 simple things, will avoid any frustrations. I have been on both sides of the fence and have learned one thing. The customer isnt always right, however the customer is always the customer.

I had the same problem with clearwire.. Crappy service and then they try to charge me.. After 2 days of dealing with them i threatened to take them to Small Claims court. They were so quick to cancel and wave the fee it almost made my head spin..
Just threaten them with bad publicity or a lawsuit and u will get what u want.
