I initially decided to give Clearwire a trial period October of 2007. Upon receipt of their equipment I hooked it up and found no signal anywhere in my home. I called them to report the problem and they said they would send a technician out, which they did. The technician came out and said that he could not get signal anywhere either. I promptly returned the modem. I noticed a $40.00 charge on my account in December of 2007 and called them to find out what it was for. They stated they had never received the modem and I would not stop charging me until they received it. I stated that I had already sent it to them.

In January of 2008 I called and explained that I had no idea where the modem was and that it never came back to me. I asked if I could pay for the equipment to cancel my account. They agreed and charged me $214.00 for the equipment. Then in February of 2008 I received a charge on my credit card for an early termination fee. I called and explained that I requested that my account be terminated during the trial period. They refunded the early termination fee. Later in the month of February they charged me the early termination fee again. I called again and was told that I owed the early termination fee and the customer service rep stated that I could not speek to a manager. I called repeatedly until I finally reached a manager who refunded the fee.
March 10th 2008 Clearwire charged my account $214.00 overdrafting my account and causing overdrafts on four other purchases that posted the same day. resulting in a negative balance of $324.00. On March 11th they charged my account an additional $214.00 causing a negative balance of $538.00 and on March 12th they charged my bank an additional $214.00 causing a negative balance of $752.00. I called clearwire and they stated that they could not stop my card from running each day even though they show that I paid the $214.00 in January. I called my bank and they stated that they could not dispute the charges until they were out of a pending status and that I could not close the account until I had a positive balance. Assuming that Clearwire continues to charge my account from now until my pay date that means I will have a negative balance even after I get my paycheck. This means that Clearwire will continue charging my account $214.00 everyday on an account that I cannot close because their charges are keeping it in a negative status and I cannot dispute because they will never come out of a pending status.
