I am so sorry that I trusted this company to fulfill its promise. Like so many other victims of this company, I have not received any services from the College Funding Center. I truly believe that paying close to one thousand dollars for services unrendered is unconstitutional. Basically, I paid a tremendous amount of money for a news letter.
I WANT MY MONEY BACK! As a single parent, I was really expecting a lot from this agency. I do not have that kind of money to just throw away. If the College Funding Center is unable to provide the services that it promised then I am entitled to a refund, in which, I can use that money towards my childs education. I think it is so unfair for this agency to take advantage of hard working parents trying to provide the best opportunities for their children. I really and truly want my money back now!! As a matter of fact, I fill that I am due a full refund since NOTHING was done for me and my child.

#2 Consumer Suggestion
Please pass this info on to your credit card company

I don't know how your credit card company handled the situation, but even if they did get that refund for you, through their dispute department, PLEASE give them this information.
This might help other account holders, who were victimized as well. There could be another single parent out there, in the same situation.
The Federal Trade Commission is now in the process of granting refunds, while monetary assets last. This is the key person for them to contact regarding this matter:
Gary D. Kennedy
Senior Litigation Counsel
Federal Trade Commission
1999 Baring Street, Suite 2150
Dallas, TX, 75201
214-979-9350 (voice)
214-953-3079 (fax)
For all we know, your credit card company already has this info, but just to be on the safe side, please pass this on.
Thank you.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
file a dispute with your credit card company

Lisa,
I have several suggestions for you. If you paid College Funding via credit card, you can file a dispute with your credit card company. Upon providing all related information to my credit card company, they were able to reimburse my credit card for the $995 charge. Second, file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General. It appears there may be a class action lawsuit being levied by the Federal Trade Commission in Dallas (write to them also).
I, too, am a single mother who has had financial setbacks. College Funding kept sending me solicitations and I finally called them and brought my son to their interview. They made all kinds of promises to me and my 14 year old son. Not only did College Funding commit a fradulent transaction, but I feel that it was morally wrong as well because they ask you and your child to go to the presentation and meet with them and get your child's hopes up as well. In my opinion, their giving my son false hopes is not forgivable!
I feel that they were especially ruthless to me because I met with them and signed a contract on May 3, 2003, and then on May 7, 2004, the FTC filed the action against them - I feel that they were very aware of what they were doing to me. The FTC must have contacted them well before May 7, 2003, about the pending action because the FTC must have asked them to provide information to disprove the claims that were being made against the College Funding Center.
The FTC had to be given sufficient information before 5/7/03 to start action against the College Funding Center, so their signing a contract with me was illegal.
