I wish I never signed up with Colonial Home Warranty. They are a bunch of crooks. They sell you hard on all the great coverage and service expertise until you need it.

2 months ago my refrigerator was not working corrected. It was running very hot to the point burnt mark were showing up around the doors. I called Colonial and they sent a repair company. The service person said they would get back to me when they gets a part in and talks with the manufacturer. After 2 weeks of non-responsiveness. I finally decided this repair company was incompetent and I asked Colonial to send someone else. They did assign another service company but of course I was already out of $45.

The 2nd service said my coils was just dirty and took 5 minutes to do some dusting. Then he left. Well the problem did not go away. And this company did not respond to any of my call and I was out another $45 Colonial deductible.

So being fed up with the lack of quality service companies Colonial were sending out I spoke with their Manager. He suggested I find a servicing company on my own and they would reimburse the repairs. So this is what I did. I found a good professional company that knew exactly the problem with my refrigerator and fixed the defective part.

I passed along the $400 repair bill to Colonial as instructed. After a day I received a call from Colonial saying this is not covered since it is covered by my refrigerator warranty manufacturer. I called KitchedAid and they said this was not the case.

To summarize DO NOT use Colonial. They will send the worse service companies in your area. Then they will try everything possible to not pay or cover your repairs. I am still wasting a lot time trying to work this out with Colonial with no luck and out of $500 of my money not including the $430 I paid Colonial for the pitiful so-called home warranty :-(
