I had cancelled my account due to I had signed the opt out selection so they would not send me the director's selection and I kept sending them and the last one I decided not to keep. So I mailed them back.
Now the company is claming that I owe them $35 and have filed it with a creditor company named Prism Capital Resources and have s****.>
I tried to explain to them but they would not listen and asked for the receipt, when they know that this have been about 3 to 4 years and I do not have the papers in which I sent this merchandise back and paid the last 1 dvd payment before cancellation.
I don't know why out of the blue this company have now on July 7,2006 letter saying that I owe them out of three to four years. You know that if this was legimate they would have immediately billed me like others creditors.
Please who ever do not do business with this company and their counterpart BMG Music. You will be sorry when you decide to cancel out for any reason.

#2 Consumer Suggestion
Ask for positive delivery

You can ask Columbian House, BMG, Book of the Month etc. for a "positive delivery" only account. This means that you will have to send back the flyer specifically stating that you want the item before they send it to you. While in grad school I worked for one of the companies above and, while this was not well know, we were required to do this for any customer that requested.

the day before yesterday i called columbia house and got one of the customer service reps and asked to be removed from the director's selection and was told they could not do that. so went on the net and was able to find the parent company for columbia house/bmg(directgroup bertelsmann) so i sent a email to let them know that i would be canceling my membership after i met my membership agreement.
within 24hrs i get a email from the executive assistant of columbia house shana golden-smith(shana.golden-smith@bmgch.com) informing me that they will not be sending me dvds that i did not order she also told me that they will not send me anymore cds from my bmg account that i did not order that i never asked for. so if you are having problems with columbia house try the email for shana first if that don't work send a email to the parent company it worked for me it may work you
