Commerce Energy Just energy Commerce energy is a huge scam and lied to me! Nationwide

Commerce energy is a huge scam. They came to my door on a Saturday evening and said "hello I work with BGE, I have to check your BGE bill because we received notification that your entire neighborhood has broken meters" so i couldn't find me BGE bill at that point so I just gave him a letter from BGE stating that I paid my bill. He said I was required to do all of this. So being stupid, I "signed up".

The guy told me a bunch of stuff about how he needed to get all this info from me and everything. Then, to "confirm" that I had my meters fixed he had me call this number and this woman (customer service I'm assuming?) was telling me all these things I couldnt understand, because I don't think she was speaking english.

after I got off the phone with her, another guy came to my door (another commerce energy employee) saying that "yeah none of the people in this neighborhood have been checked yet. I met a guy who didn't have his BGE bill on him so I just played video games with him" WHAT? 

so at the end, the guy said "you have 6 months to cancel your service or you will be charged a fee" I had no idea what he meant because he still had me under the impression that he was BGE and had to check my rates/meter.

after the guys left I called my husband to tell him and he got angry with me and said its a HUGE scam and they don't work for BGE. the guy gave me the customer service number and I immediatly called them saying I wanted to cancel, and they said "it's the weekend we can't cancel anything. You'll have to wait til Monday. You only have 3 days to cancel or you'll be charged $79.99" or something like that. 

i called back on Monday and yet again spoke with someone who barely spoke English. he KEPT asking me if I wanted to sign up for free trials of stuff, if I wanted to keep my sercice, ETC... So I went off and told him "I JUST WANT TO CANCEL MY SERVICE" and he asked why so I told him that the guy who came to my home was a huge scam and liar. After this guy gave me a confirmation number I wrotr it down. I'm hoping that nothing happens and they leave me alone and that my service is cancelled. lesson learned: you don't have to give ANYONE anything who comes to your door, unless it is the authorities. If commerce energy comes to your door, call the police.
