I would like to thank Montgomery Ford in Cincinnati for putting me with this nightmare of a company.
I can't believe this is a real company to begin with. I have visions of people sitting around their living rooms calling people to harass them.
This company threatened to reposses my 83 year old father's car, a friend, previous employer and a stranger in Tennessee. This has to be illegal.
I have never been treated so rudely in my life and I'm 49 years old. If I'm a day late, they are on the phone, telling me they've left numerous messages for me, which is a total lie, they ask me questions, if I had a choice to pay my rent or my car payment, which would it be (I wouldn't answer them). These are ignorant people.
I want them stopped. I asked them how many days can you be past due, before they will reposses a vehicle. I was told, that it could be at any time, as this company has investors that sit around and decide whether or not you can keep your car. So an hour, a day, a month??? Again, they need to be stopped and put out of business.

Fault vs. Responsibility

"Of course when I had the job I had the income to pay the note. When I lost my job I had to adjust drastically. I could not have forseen the mass layoff coming so that is not my fault."
I agree that losing your job may not be your fault. That doesn't mean your responsibilities just go away. The loan contract you signed didn't say you had to pay only if you still had your job.
If your credit is so bad that you have to borrow from a subprime lender, you just have to accept that they are going to be very aggressive trying to get their money back when you don't pay. It's what they do. Whereas a normal lender might be willing to work with a customer, most of these subprime outfits already considered you to have a few strikes against you when you took out the loan.

I feel that people who live in their little bubbles where nothing goes wrong in their world need to not comment. Unless you have walked a mile in some one else's shoes you don't know.
I too tried to work with this company when I lost my job. Of course when I had the job I had the income to pay the note. When I lost my job I had to adjust drastically. I could not have forseen the mass layoff coming so that is not my fault.
I tried to change my due date, I tried to work out some payments, I even was willing to take the voluntary repo as I am a mother and having a house comes first. They still will not find a resolution except to harass you, your friends, and your family.

This report is ridiculous. Everyone knows that when your miserable credit history forces you to use a subprime lender, that lender is going to be aggressive about on-time payments. That's one of the things you have to accept if you've screwed up your credit to the point that you have to borrow from them.
This is supposed to be an opportunity for the OP to improve his credit rating by showing some responsibility and establishing a record of paying on time. He's obviously more concerned with how late a payment he can get away with. With this kind of lender, the answer is "not late". They took a big risk lending to him in the first place, so they're going to make real sure they let him know when he is not living up to his end of the contract.
The OP should read his loan agreement to find out how many days past due he can be, before they repo. It likely says they can do it anytime he's past due. That's just a fact of life when you live in the subprime world.

Hey Jim I"ve seen your comments on several different reports and they are always very negative toward the person writing the report.People do hit a bump in the road on occasion.
Have you never had any problems in life or do you just sit at your computer being bitter ?
Personally I don't think being a few days late with a payment is grounds for repossession but thats just me.

Here's How!

When YOU signed the contract, they agreed to provide the financing for YOU because YOU made yourself a sub-prime borrower because YOU have a reputation of not paying YOUR bills on time. In that same contract, YOU agreed to make each and every payment on time, everytime.
That same contract tells YOU they can and will reposess the car if YOU don't make the payments on time which YOU promissed to do.
So, if you want to stop them from calling you or anone else, the answer is really pretty simple! Make your payment on time! t isn't rocket science!
I agree with you...certain things need to be stopped. How about sub-prime borrowers STOPPING their bad credit reputation dead in its tracks by paying their bills on time!
