My cricket phone was not allowing me to retrieve messages so went to this store at 10 a.m. to see if they could troubleshoot the problem. Lacie was the employee who assisted me. She tried various things but they didn't work. Finally she reset the phone and erased my contact list. When I told her she had erased my contact list she acted like it wasn't a big deal. This contact list had my business contacts on it and I won't be able to replace some of them. She finally said this had never happened before when they tried this procedure.
The problem could not be fixed and she thought it might be a software problem. She recommended I call the insurance company to get a replacement phone approved. When this was done I went back to Lacie and she brought this rinky dink phone and said this is what they had that was comparable to my phone. I had already heard about the problems people had with that type of phone and told her I did not want that. She did not offer another solution (that there was another store in town that might have a replacement phone I could have) but told me to call the insurance company and have them mail me one.
Lacie was not sympathetic to my problem and during the time she assisted me she was visiting with the girl next to her about their personal escapades. I thought employees were to stay focused on the customer. This is so rude and unprofessional to do this to customers. I didn't know if she was helping me or answering the girl next to her.
When I left the store I was so upset about the whole thing. It ruined my morning and could not believe how unprofessional this girl was. She made me feel like she was doing me a favor. She needs more training or placed where she doesn't talk to the public.
Your employees need to be more customer oriented and if they don't want to deal with people they should not be in those positions. I have been with Cricket since October 2001 and am considering taking my business elsewhere.
I work in an office with over 400 people and know many of them are Cricket customers. You can assure I will be emailing them with how your employees treat their customers.

That's horrible customer service!!

I'm not sure if the rep that you spoke with was genuinely trying to delete your contact list. It seems that she was trying to help you out (as you asked her to do). However, she did mess up by resetting your phone, which caused your contacts to be erased. I'd be upset too if she acted like she didn't care and started talking to another co-worker instead of focusing on helping YOU (which it seems like is the biggest factor in your post here). It seems that if she would have focused on you, this wouldn't have been as big of a problem...even though it sucked that she did delete your business contacts.
I have a possible solution for you, since you have a business and must maintain these contacts. Go to the following website to find a viable solution for backing up your contacts in your phone to your computer, provided your phone is on their list of compatible phones:
http://solution.allthingsd.com/20060215/easy-backup-phone-contacts/
I actually use Verizon because my family and I travel a lot. They have a "backup assistant" that automatically backs up your contact list every day...and it's FREE with registering your account on their website (cuts down on paper costs...it's EXPENSIVE!!).
