After only being a member for a few days or so my mother was working out at Curves with me and my daughter and the leg press machine fell while she was seated and placing her feet on the pedal to push. The manager told her that she wasnt't the first and wouldn't be the last to fall on the machines. She fell on her right side and has suffered pinched nerves, herniated and bulging discs due to the fall.
She has since been to a neuro surgeon who has done injection treatment for the injuries. I contacted Curves and was ignored. no response ever can to me regarding their faulty equipment.
If you go to the Curves website you will see that the machines are not stable to keep from tipping over. The width of the feet are no more than 1 to 2 feet and this is not substantial to ensure the machine from tipping.
Has anyone else fell or been hurt at Curves?

#1 Consumer Suggestion
It has happened before...
AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

Although it has happened before, it is not entirely Curves' fault. When morbidly obese people sit on the machines, they usually do not fit, and thus the machines may wobble or otherwise become unstable. It's an unfortunate situation, but such machines are not designed to have such a huge body on them. If you look at the back of the machine, you will see the weight limit designed for the machine. If your mother falls within the weight limit and still fell, then perhaps you have a case for which you should consult a lawyer. However, if she exceeded the weight capacity, then that would only be seen as negligence on her part and you will not be able to pursue it.
