My girlfriend and I were passed a car on 11/13/08 that was for sale on the side of the road. We pulled over and called the number on the window. A male named "Dan" answered the phone and told me the car was for sale for $2300. I asked him how long the car was sitting there and he said just a couple of days. My Gf and I had him bring the car down to my grandfathers shop to have it looked at.

After test driving the car Me and my grandfather both agreed that the car was in ok order. Dan stated that he was selling the car for his friend Mr. Nathanial ******* who was an older gentleman, so he was doing him a favor. Dan stated that Mr. Nathanial ******* wanted the $2300 for the car however the car was only listed on KBB for $2000. He made a phone call to Mr. Nathanial ******* , and told me that $2000 was fine.

My Gf paid $2000 cash for the car and received the title and Bill of sale with the signature of a Mr. Nathanial *******.I did the research to see that Mr. Nathanial ******* was in fact 60 years of age, and did own the car. I went to the bathroom and my Gf signed the title and Bill of sale.

The next day we went to get the car insured but the title said 9/3/08. At this time I felt very uneasy and such. If we were to register the car with the title of that date the Lemon Law would not apply. So I contacted Dan and told him I needed a notarized letter stating that the date was written incorrectly. After about 30 min of arguing that I was making a big deal out of the matter he agreed to get the letter. He told me that he needed the title to do so. I refused.

He told me that he knew a person named Beverly, at the RMV that could push it through with the date of 11/13/08 on the title. All I had to do was give him my title and the proof of insurance. I checked with my insurance agent who knows everyone at the RMV and he said that there was no person by that name who ever worked there. Once again I refused to give him the title.

Feeling very uneasy after such a runaround I did some research and found a number for Mr. Nathanial *******. I spoke with him only to find out that he sold the car MONTHS ago to a dealer for $150 who was suppose to junk it. He never signed the title when he handed it over. The dealer sold it to another person who sold it to DAN. Dan forged both signatures on the title as well as the Bill of sale. I filed a police report and demanded my money back.

After trying to reach him all day I finally got a hold of him. After 30 min of swearing at me and acting like he was 5 yo, he told me he is going to meet me tomorrow at my grandfathers shop and we will exchange again, but I don't think this will happen.

THE GUYS NAME IS DAN MURPHY. NOT ONLY DID HE LIE HE COMMITED A FELONY BY FORGING LEGAL DOCUMENTS. HE LIVES IN THE NEWBURYPORT, MA AREA. HIS PHONE NUMBER IS 978 270 6464.

It's taken ten years to find myself willing to waste the time to respond to this absurd bit of slander composed by a low I Q liar.

But I'm stuck waiting for a delayed flight. 

The intelligence level of this "person" is displayed in the first sentence of his complaint, which even if accurate, which it is not, is about a date written on a title. The title and bill of sale, when actually presented to the R M V, were accepted and the car was registered. No "notarized letter" was supplied or therefore presented. It was all just some mental masturbation between "John" (not his real name) and his girlfriends insurance agent.  He did go to the Salisbury police and complain but thay told him they weren't doing typographical errors that day. I challenge him to produce a report. I know they told him to take a hike after listening to his psychobabble for a minute. 

As for the car it was a nice Saturn sedan with pretty low miles that was fully serviced and in great shape. I even let his family do a full disection of it at their garage in Salisbury, Burda Bros. Garage. They were new in town. They relocated to Salisbury for reasons unknown to me. The Saturn fared quite well, as stated by "John" in his complaint. Burda Bros. did not fare quite as well as they went out of business after a few years. Probably relocated........again.

I got to speak with "John" a little the day his girlfriend bought the saturn. I needed a ride back to my car as the Saturn was staying at their shop. I hopped into his red Ford Ranger, awash in empty fast food wrappers to my shins. As we drove along I noticed a switch for grill mounted emergency lights.  He remarked that he liked to pull up behind people he knew at night and turn them on, " huh, huh, huh ". I asked him why he had them and he told me he used to be a volunteer firefighter in South Hampton, NH, but the other firefighters asked him not to volunteer anymore. What a surprise. i remember him saying that and thinking to myself; " why would he tell anyone that " ? Then again, who rides around at night annoying people with flashing emergency lights? A moron, thats whom.

As for the chain of ownership the Saturn was a trade in to Frank at Bridge Road Auto, right down the street from the former Burda Bros. garage. It was traded by the gentleman mentioned by "John" in his complaint. Frank, or "the Hispanic Mechanic" as we fondly call him, is a Mexican/American whom has been in the U S A for 30 years and I still can't understand much of what he says in english. He's an excellent mechanic and I sold the Saturn for him. He performed the pre-sale service and it had zero deficiancies. She and "John's" family of mechanics were completely satisfied with the Saturn at a whopping $2000. The only "person" with a problem is "John". But then, he has a lot of problems.

As for me, all's well. Same business. Same spouse. Same home. Same phone number. My Black Lab, Gracie, passed on. She was awesome. My new guy is Max and he's already 5. Bridge Road Auto is thriving, as well. Frankie ( Hispanic Mechanic ) is still there, turning wrenches and singing in his version of english as customers and co-workerts smile and nod, pretending to understand.
