All filmmakers, especially those just starting out, are struggling: financially, creatively, emotionally. They know their dream and vision are bigger than them, they sacrifice more they can bare sometimes and when some mischievous individual comes in to lie, steal, destroy or alter those precious things, well, that person needs to be flushed out and named immediately.

Unfortunately, David Nguyen or David Caustics or Sarah Cigana or Elijah Hawlyn turned out to be such a person… he uses and abuses people from our community.

He already has an online record with similar accusations back in Toronto.
He acts as writer, director, stunt actor, actor, producer, casting director, etc.

We have way too many messages from people about his “moves” such as:
- borrowing money without paying it back to make short films with plagiarized content
- using people's passion for filmmaking to his own personal gain, asking them to work for him for free, to no result.
- lying to people by telling them he works on big Hollywood productions here in Vancouver and Los Angeles and that he is friends with huge names in the industry (there’s no track record of that and no one has confirm).

Please do your homework, ask around, get informed about new individuals, especially when you want to hire them in key positions on your project. This community is not that big, so we can all help each other.

Suspicious for sure. In my opinion, this guy is kind of like faking things until he makes it. I saw his name in a facebook group asking for workers and posting about future projects of his and ive heard stories from many people in vancouver about their experiences with this guy. Dont seem to add up. He probably thinks he is fooling people but he doesnt realize many people are talking about him.

The vancouver film industry is very tight. theres a growing number of people who already talk about this guy and dont believe a word this guy says and just going along with what he says. But people are talking and laughing about the conflicting stories. Anyway I cant beleive i stumbed upon this website because it seems this report is when he lived in toronto and was submitted 4 years ago?

but all the things in this report, he seems to still be doing the same things here in vancouver. I mean eventually he probably will gain those experiences and have stuff to back up his mouth but at the moment, i probably would take what he says with a grain of salt. Just my opinion.  This article was created by someone whom had a falling out of with the accused. Who then proceeded to write this article out of hate and irrational thought in order to take revenge. Not only was the accused not once approached but also was not confronted to deal with any possible issues and misunderstandings. Plus everything in this article doesn't point to specific issues that have facts to follow. All it is, is someone angry who felt the need to go out of their way to spread slander and defamation.
