I like many others were scamed by Steven Shaw & Mary Stapleton of Debt Free Venture. They seamed very polite and helpful when ever I called. Like many others I also was promised a loan of $5,000 only thing was I needed to send a $500 deposit. according to Steven it would be returned to me after I had made all my payments on time.
I needed the money so I agreed and was told to send the money to Uriel Johnson in Riverdale Ga. by moneygram. After recieveing the money Mary told me that my loan would be in my checking on 1-20-04, when that day came of course no money. steven told me it was because my liabilites were in the wrong place and it was their fault and would be resumitted. after a couple more weeks another loan was approved which was to come 2-20-04. The day before I called Mary she assured me everything was still OK and my loan would be there the next day.
The next day no loan and I could not reach them, I tried for a week. Since then I have been in touch with lawyers who are avaliable for UAW members but I feel my money is lost. If anyone reads this message you are welcome to contact me. I saw one story from Nathan from Columbus Oh. about a Class action lawsuit I"m all for it I just pray someone can stop these crooks.
