Called Dell Financial Services on 4/21/14 asking them to please consider removing this month late fees due to the fact that, the payment was due on 4/20/14 which was Easter Sunday. I spent the Sunday with family at Church and forgot to make the payment that day. The next day before making the payment, I called the customer service department asking will I be charged a late fee for miss the due date. They told me yes I would still be charged the late fee. I disputed the the late fee and ask for a manager. The manager stated that he would have to get with someone from the corp. office being that one late charge was remove back in June of last year. He stated that he would call me back in 24-48 hours to let me know what was decided about removing the late fee. He calls back 4/22/14 stating that corp. states they can not remove the late fee because the policy must be followed accordingly. Ok, that fine. Thats what I told the manager when he called back. I also told him that they will not ever have to be concerned about me ever ordering anything else from them again. They are a ripp-off. There interest rate are rediculous; a complete joke. I being paying them for 5 years and I only got 3 small items. Trust me I am finish with them. I will take my hard earned money elsewhere. The only reason I got the account was because my job they offers a discount when you make a purchase. It really was the biggest mistake ever made. Good bye Dell and good written. I have a 3,000 credit limit with them and now down to 380.00. Can't wait to get to that 0 balance.

But you were late

But in the end, after all this whining, you were late and you were late more than once.
I expect that most any company you decide to deal with after this will not take kindly to late payments either. When you bought the device you agreed to make payments on time everytime. You didn't!

Not a Rippoff

You "forgot" to make a payment when due and now you want them to refund your late fee. Unbelievable. When you take your business elsewhere you will still pay late fees when you "forget" to make a payment.
BTW I love my Dell computer and I don't work for them

Where's the ripoff?

So, you admit you forgot to make the payment on time, and you are complaining because you are getting hit with a late fee? Really? What makes you better than anyone else? You didn't pay your bill on time, and you even admit this isn't the first time this has happened.
You are trying to rip off Dell. You are not paying what you agreed to on the date agreed to, and you have the nerve to complain about Dell? I too have a Dell Financial Services account, and guess what? I always pay my bill on or before the due date and don't have to worry about a late fee. I suggest you do the same.
There is no ripoff here, only the OP trying to get over on Dell. And no, I don't work for Dell, and never have.

Regarding Late Fees
AUTHOR: just trying to help - ()

Most companies will only provide you a one time courtesy regarding late fees. You admitted that you were late before and they removed it. There is no reason for them to remove it as you are responsible for paying the bill and Dell offers multiple options as far as setting up automatic payments. On top of that, your bank more than likely offers Bill Pay which also can be set up for automatic payments. Asking for a late fee just because it is Easter is a joke especially if they were open and taking payments that day. They are a business and for profit. They didnt have to give you a break last June.
As far as your balance, of course it will take you a long time to pay it off if you only make the minimum payments. You are basically just paying interest with only a little of that paying down the principal amount owed. If you do get another credit card or line of credit, please pay more than the minimum amount or if you can make an extra payment to principal. Never pay just the minimum amount. You will end up paying way too much.
