Booked 2 tickets within minutes of each other on Delta Airlines on-line website, one for my wife and one for myself.  The ticket for my wife was using Skymiles and I was purchasing (a pretty expensive) ticket for myself.  Received 2 confirmation e-mails just after each reservation was made and the receipt for the purchase of my tickets on my AMEX account.

Needed to check the reservations about 5 hours later and went straight to the Delta website to pull up my reservation as well as my wifes reservation (to make sure we had seats next to each other since they were seperate reservations).  I searched and searched for my reservation and could not find it (found my wifes res).  This prompted me to call Delta Reservations to find out what may be wrong with my On-Line reservation.

The reservation agent (who was rather nice) found my original reservation and indicated that it was voided one minute after it was made.  He went ahead and re-booked me on the same flights and took all of my CC information and I promptly received the confirmation.  Funny thing is they charged me $20 to book the ticket over the phone when all I was doing was checking on why I could not find my original reservation that I had a confirmation from Delta for (never received any notification that my original reservation was voided).

I immediately contacted Delta Customer support via both on-line support and by snail mail to request a refund of the $20 fee and each time received the same lame reply "any ticketing done by a live reservation agent will incur a fee" (or something to that extent and that if they bent the rules for me, what about everyone else.  I also indicated that I would have been more than happy to pay the $20 fee if my original intent was to use the phone reservation system and the only reason I contacted was due problem finding my original reservation (the voided one).

Buyer beware, or make darn sure that Delta's on-line reservation system confirms your flights and does not Void it without notification.  While $20 may not seem like much, I stood on principle to no avail.  Will probably burn the remainder of my Skymiles sometime soon and avoid Delta when possible, very unreasonable customer service and an unstable on-line reservation system.
