DeVry University Is A RIPOFF! The paper is not worth the money Tinley Park, ILTinley Park Illinois

First off I'm glad I found the website to vent my frustration. Up until this point I really had no where to go or I couldn't find anyone to listen.
My story with DeVry goes like this.

My Mom really wanted to see me to graduate from college. I really had no idea what I wanted to do. She heard DeVry was a good school and not wanting to let her down I decided to go. I took their electronics class (ECT). I did finish. But my biggest problems with DeVry is all through school, I had the same complaints as I see posted here. I did raise my concerns with my counselor but never got anywhere. I like most could not understand most of my Professors in most all my classes. The language barrier was just to much. I still struggled with this and managed to pass. Which I really couldn't understand how I managed since I was learning nothing in school. Everything I learned I feel I learned on my own, working and studying at home.

When I finally did graduate, my biggest disappointment was when I finally realized DeVry was not going to help land me a decent job. Not even close. I expected a job that would generate enough income to start paying off my student loans. Which added up to over $30,000. I did eventually get a job making $13 dollars an hour. This is better than min wage but I guess I thought that after paying such a high price to teach myself the least they could do was help me land a job that paid enough to get by.

Long story short. I graduated from DeVry in Feb '06. I'm now a stay at home Mom, which don't get me wrong I love my children. But if I had the information I have now. Would I recommend DeVry to anyone. No, I'm still paying off my student loans and hope to someday return to work. But I know the money I put into my education at DeVry did not pay off for me.

My advice to anyone going to school is, know where your money is going. Insist on an invoice that itemizes everything. Don't wait til it's to late to do this. I tried getting itemized bills from DeVry and could not. In the end you need to know where the money is going or you'll be wondering in the end. Where the hell did all that money go!
