In April 2015 my wife and I purchased a Diamond Resort Sampler and my credit card was charged $349 and monthly payments were to be charge until the balance was paid.

We booked our first trip for January 2016 and were told we would need to have made at least $1,000 in payments on our loan, but that should not be a problem given the six month time line.

Last month I noticed that there have been no additional charges on my card by Diamond. I have made a total of four phone calls to Diamond, the last one was this past Wednesday and I was promised that I would hear back on Thursday. It’s now Friday and still no call, no email, no snail mail.

So right now we have nothing and no answers and would not become an owner if they gave it to me. What an incompetently run business, with zero customer service. I want my $349 back and too be finished with Diamond Resorts.

DRI has resolved this issue

DRI, has refunded my deposit, is closing out the escrow, and repairing their report to Experian. They finally figured out they were in breach of their own contract.

Still no customer service

Now the company that could not call me back, calls about twice a day trying to collect, but did not contact us to make this right. DRI , by their own incompetence deprived us of 5 months of an 18 month deal. They seem to have a Mob business policy. Now don’t misunderstand we have a Hilton Timeshare that we are very happy with…they understand Customer Service.

To update my complaints with Diamond Resorts International, I made about seven phone calls and either left a message or spoke to employees that had no answers. No answers for why my loan/contract was “in suspense”, why I had not received a payment book or statement. I did find out that the salesman did not fill out and get my signature for the payment to be charged to a credit card. I finally received a payment coupon/bill to be paid starting in October. From April to September I received no communication from DRI except for confirmation for a reservation in January 2016, for which I was required to have paid in over $1,000.00 to qualify. I would have to double up on the payments for this to happen and technically had five month “in suspense” of the eighteen months I had to use the “Sampler”. I figured if this “Sampler” program was to impress us to become owners and we were being treated like this, I want no part of this deal and this company. I sent DRI a letter explaining my experience and decision not to follow through with this “Sampler” package. I received an email which I followed up with a phone call and was told I would not be refunded my $349 down payment and that the loan would just go into default. I received another phone call threatening that the loan would continue to accrue interest through the term, be reported as a default on our credit, and turned over to a collection agency. That actually sounds better than being a DRI customer.
